Dream grinned. "Is anyone just their title?" He teased, sending him a teasing and playful wink. Sapnap tensed next to George, narrowing his eyes at the royal male. "Of course, you are onto something. You just might not be onto the exact truth." The taller male hummed, standing and turning around, putting his hands in his pants pockets and starting to walk back to the castle.
"That's bullshit." Sapnap's words paused Dream, the latter turning his body enough so he could move his head in their direction. "You're taunting us. You know something, enough with these mind games, what is it?"
Dream shrugged one of his shoulders and started to walk back to the castle. "I guess you'll just have to find out." And before either of them had the opportunity to catch up to him, Dream vanished from their sight and made his way to his room. He had enough of his "engagement" ball for one night.
-------
The next day, the guests still had not left the kingdom, some stayed in rooms in the palace while others had hotel rooms rented out. Apparently, there was a development Dream was unaware of. Thee were to be balls twice a week until Dream had finally picked his bride.
He wanted to get away, to leave the palace and go be around people, normal people, so he did. He changed into a dark green hoodie and jeans, slipping on some black trainers with green highlights on the side. The tall male looked at his mask for a while, before finally putting it on and welcoming the familiar and comforting feeling that came with it.
He walked out his room, glad no one was in the halls, and ended up leaving the castle without being detected. How he managed to get away, he had yet to know.
Dream ran through the palace grounds and straight into the city, blending with the crowd immediately. After minutes, or possibly hours he could never tell, it was less crowded outside. He wandered some more before coming to a relatively calm place filled with a few trees, a large fountain, and benches. Dream looked around before deciding to climb a tree, sitting on a low branch and leaning his back against the trunk as he stared off into the distance.
After a possibly even longer time- Dream ended up zoning out but it wasn't dark yet so he guessed about thirty minutes have passed- he heard some footsteps but thought nothing of it until he heard hushed whispers coming not that far away from his tree.
"D-Dream...?" He knew that voice, he could never forget it. The owner of it was one of his beloved after all. Dream turned his head, looking down at the males.
"Sapnap. George." Dream murmured. "Its been a while, three years I think?" Lies, he had seen the not even a three days since he last saw his boys. "I hope you've been well, I missed you both. I was thinking about visiting you soon."
"Bullshit! You can't just disappear and then come out of nowhere spouting shit like that!" Sapnap demanded, narrowing his eyes at him. "You... you left us Dream! You abandoned us, and for what? To live a better life in the kingdom instead of some random village?!"
"I didn't choose to leave." Dream huffed, jumping down from the trees. "I already said in the letter, the king requested me and ignoring that maniac is practically a death sentence. I also remember putting that one day I would come back to you both. Like I could stay away from my boys for so long willingly." He leaned against the tree, grinning at the faint blush that appeared on Sapnap's face. That was until George practically tackled him, knocking them both to the floor with Dream under the colourblind male that straddled him- Georges legs were on either side of Dreams, making the male suddenly appreciate the mask that his his burning face even more.
"Dream!" George smiled, hugging the male. With a quick glance at Sapnap-he looked stuck between joining the hug or pulling George away- Dream hugged him back. George hummed contentedly into Dreams neck that he somehow buried his face into without Dream noticing. "Missed you so much." Slurred the male as he breathed in Dream's scent(Dream once asked him to describe it to him and he just said it was earthy while Sapnap's smelt of a campfire and smoke and claimed it was the perfect combination).
"Missed you too Gogy." Dream chuckled and looked at Sapnap sadly watching them. "Bring your ass over here Sappitus Nappitus." He could see the way the bandana wearing males eyes had lit up as he came over to them, wrapping his arms around them both only for Dream to also wrap his arms around Sapnap. "Isn't this better? Both of my boys being getting the attention and affection they deserve?"
This wasn't an unusual thing for Dream, he had always said or done things like this to them. They always assumed he was joking, some of it was but most of it was serious and his beloveds just took it as him playing around.
"I mean, Sapnap gives me all the affection I need and more." George laughed.
The way the words were phrased made him upset, did he not need Dreams attention then? No, he knew they loved him even if it wasn't in the way he craved it was. Or at lease he hoped they still did. "Oh? Is Sappy nappy finally taking care of Georgie the way he should be?" Dream half-joked, since unbeknownst to them he knew they were together. But he had a part to play as naïve, and play it he will.
"I would hope so, I am his boyfriend after all." Sapnap's voice had a hint of hostility. Dream flinched slightly at the tone.
Dream hesitated, forcing himself to tense a little and start to pull away. "Does that mean I need to stop doing stuff like this?" Dream gestured to the three of them. "And yes, this includes the little jokes or comments I make and the overly affectionate with you two thing."
Sapnap tensed and George looked a little pained as he carefully watched his boyfriend. Sapnap sighed, looking between Dream and George, both of them sporting sad facial expressions but Dreams was hidden by his mask while George's pout and puppy eyes could be clearly seen.
"Sapnap?" George whispered, Sapnap just stared wide-eyed at the ground below them.
"It's fine, George, I got the message." Dream mumbled, pulling away from them and standing up. "By the way," Dream spoke as he walked away, "I wasn't lying when I said I missed you two." And with that, Dream made his way to the castle feeling as alone and empty as he did when he left it earlier that day.

Ok, serious question- Is it weird or confusing when I alternate between U.S. English and British English?? Because I'm gonna be honest, I do this wayy too much.
Like I'll say something in U.S English then turn around and say the same thing but with the British English term. (i.e.: sidewalk, pavement; colour, color)
But seriously, should I try to fix it so its all one way or is it ok if I continue it like this??
(SIDE NOTE I SWEAR IM NOT MOCKING BRITISH PEOPLE ITS JUST A HABIT, OK??)
Thank you byeee-
Wait no if you have any ideas please share I'm curious.
