Hey guys, it's me Rachel here.
A lot of you guys will already know me, but if you don't let me tell you.
My name is Rachel Lane. I'm 18 years old and study at WU to become a doctor. I grew up in Clinton, Indiana with my mother, my best friend who is also my boyfriend. His name is Eliot. He is one year younger than me and is still in high school, but we're planning for him to come and join me next year at Washington University to study economics or play football. My mother studied at WU as well, but she stopped when she was pregnant with me. I'm actually fulfilling her wishes.
My childhood was not like any other child. After my dad left when I was ten, the abuse and fighting between my parents stopped, but my mom fell apart. Lucky for me I had a good friend who helped me with almost everything. I had to take care of my mother alone. Eliot and his mom helped where they could and I love them like family for that. After a few months, it started getting better. She started coming out of bed and cleaning up and even making dinner. Within three months I got a job to help pay the bills and the depth my dad left for us. I worked my ass off in school and on work until my mother got a new job again and I could focus on school. I was an outsider in school, which I didn't mind cause I liked being on my own, but now I have Eliot.
When everything was starting to get normal, we forgot about my dad and my mom and I started a new life together. She raised me trying to protect me from anything and anyone. She pressures me a lot to be the best version of myself and sometimes it's a little too much. I know she means well, but it can be hard to be perfect. My mother is very protective and driven, but with good intentions.
And without a doubt, she is the best mother I could wish for if she isn't being a bit too much.
My life was so simple and decided, but now with him in it.....
