Gulf's POV

----------------------------------

What's going on here? Are those real eyes? If yes, why do they exist in this unknown small village? I don't understand, my father and grandparents told me it only exists in our family so how come that other people also have red eyes? I need some answers and a an explanation that right now

"this is so scary" Aya's cousin said

"are those real red eyes?" one of the members asked

"as I doctor I can assure you that they are real" Mew said as I glanced to him, he was both astonished and shocked like the rest of us

"they are so terrifying, like the eyes of some monster" a female member said, even though she wasn't talking about me but it did hurt me since I know she would say the same about me if she find out

"hey, we should call the police" another one said

"no wait!" I stopped him, I can't let the police have those, I need some answers, if the government find this, I won't be able to know a thing, everyone looked stunned to me

"what's wrong Gulf?" Aya asked but I couldn't find a lie to stop them from calling the police, I was anxious and my mind was a mess, suddenly Mew stood in front of me

"we are the one who found this, if the police come here they will push us away and surely won't explain a thing, let's do our research first then we will call them"

"you have a point there, but it's really scary to be close to those monstrous eyes" the cousin said as I looked down, that's the normal reaction to be expected and I can't blame her for being scared, I'm terrified myself

"anyway, let's keep it a secret between us for now alright, please"

"sure, I don't mind, well let's search the other side of the room" Aya said as everyone followed her to the other side, I glanced back to the dusty jars, this is really messed up, I want to find out the source of this, I felt Mew patting on my shoulder

"are you alright?" he asked with a concerned tone

"no, I'm obviously not, I need to find out more about this place and the truth about those eyes" I stated focusing on the red eyes

"I understand, me too, I want to find everything about them" he reached taking two jars and putting them in his bag

"I will do all necessary research and experiment on those eyes, maybe it will lead me to smth, I'm catching up to the rest" he said and walked away, I was impatient to know the truth, besides, what kind of person who would go around collecting red eyes and arranging them here, in the old house, in this tiny village, we left the house by sun site, I barely ate anything for dinner and was deep in thoughts, luckily, I had my own tent, I laid there not being able to sleep, we actually tried to ask the villagers but no one even let us even talk

I stayed up all night, I kept thinking of many theories about the red eyes, a soon as I noticed the first ray of light, I slowly and as quietly as possible got out of my tent and went on a walk to the close river, I sat down watching the sun slowly rising

"young man, are you lost?" suddenly an old man asked coming from behind, I flinched and almost fell into the water

"sorry if I scared you"

"it's alright, I'm not lost, I came with my friends to explore and we are leaving today"

"exploring? Here?"

"you know, that old empty house, up the hill" he looked shocked for a moment then slowly sat down and started fishing

"that house had been abandoned for 42 years now, the last owner committed a horrible crime and ran away and never showed up"
