➽ Chapter Eight

Gulf's POV

When I got back home, I couldn't find any opportunity to talk to my father since both my siblings were there and my step mother's sister was visiting, thus, the next day, instead of going to the university, I asked my father to free his schedule and come back home early, meanwhile I started making all kind of research about that murder case and that village, Mew called me many times but I was focused on finding the truth for now

Since his calls stopped, I thought he gave up and will be waiting for me tomorrow like always by the parking lot yet I was stunned to find him standing by the front door around 3 pm looking serious and a bit angry, I quickly let him in and led him to the living room

"how did you know my address?" that was the first question I got

"I asked your department chief and he easily gave it to me"

"I didn't expect for you to come all the way to my house"

"you kept ignoring my calls and messages and yesterday I was sure that you hid a part of the story you told, I know that you don't trust me but we still have one more week, so don't keep any secrets and tell me everything" he said out loud looking worried and angry, during the past three weeks, I learned so much about Mew, well, it's more like he keeps talking about himself none stop telling everything, at first it felt weird, being close to someone like that and hanging out but I soon got used to it

Initially, I agreed to his deal thinking that it was the golden chance to make him stay away from me for good but somehow, I found myself used to his presence around me, I felt like I'm a normal student, a normal person, he treated me like a friend which made me relax a bit, I was set on continuing my life alone but after meeting this strange doctor, I find myself changing, especially that I finally met someone who accepted... I sighed looking down

"the part I hid was about the father and his daughter having red eyes just like me" he was shocked for a moment

"you mean there are other people with red eyes out there?"

"it seem so, I have so many questions that's why I skipped today and-"

Suddenly, the door opened revealing my father who managed to come back early along with my grandparents who also came to visit too, at first I introduced them to Mew who looked nervous for a while and was about to leave but I told him to stay, Mew always showed me how he truly felt and told me everything about himself, now it's my turn to be honest, so I started by telling them about Mew first who already saw my eyes and how he dragged me into the exploration club, then I told them about the small village we visited, I showed them all the pictures that Mew sent to me yesterday night, I told them about the secret room and the jars and finally about the old man's story, while Mew was listening in surprise

My father and grandparents looked to me silently in disbelieve, they would glance to each from time to time as if they asking each other for help or trying to think of smth which assured me even more that they do know the truth

"I know you are hiding smth, I'm already 20 years old, tell me everything" I said as they all looked down guilt eating them while Mew was worried starring at me

"believe me son, it's better if you don't know"

"I'm sorry father, I'm sure you are worried about me thinking that I will get hurt but I'm stronger than what you think" there was a minute of complete silence surrounding us

"I never wanted this day to come" grandma said

"you already suffered and got hurt a lot when you were a kid" grandpa added
