𝐀𝐒 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘 entered March the weather became drier, but cruel winds skinned their hands and faces every time they went out onto the grounds. There were delays in the post because the owls kept being blown off course. So Marina, Lavender, nor Pavarti hadn't received any post from their families.
As the three friends walked in the dungeon corridor, they noticed Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle were standing in a huddle outside the classroom door with Pansy Parkinson's gang of Slytherin girls sniggering. Pansy's pug-like face peered excitedly around Goyle's broad back as Harold,Ron, Hermione, Marina, Lavender, and Pavarti entered.
"What are they laughing at?" questioned Pavarti with a worried expression.
"Probably Parkinson's attempt to flirt with Malfoy. She practically sat on his lap yesterday at dinner." laughed Marina.
"There they are, there they are!" Pansy Parkinson giggled, and the knot of Slytherins broke apart.
"What do you want from us Pansy?" Lavender scoffed annoyed, who always tried to be nice to everyone.
"Hey Weasley, watch out! And you might find something to interest you as well in there, Granger!" Pansy said loudly, and she threw a Teen Witch magazine at Pavarti, who caught it looking startled.
As Marina tried to look over Hermione's shoulder. The dungeon door opened quickly, and Snape beckoned them all inside.
Marina usually liked Potions, and was strangely good at it.
Once Snape had turned his back on them to write up the ingredients of today's potion on the blackboard, Marina quickly scribbled the notes down in her books with her quill, Lavender and Pavarti did the same. The three girls went to the storeroom to collect their ingredients for the Wit-Sharpening potion, then sat at their tables crushing their scarab beetles.
opping his pestle with a loud clunk.Suddenly, Snape snatched a copy of Teen Witch from Hermione, who was reading it under her table with Harry and Ron.
"Fascinating though your social life undoubtedly is, Miss Granger," said Snape in a icy voice right. "I must ask you not to discuss it in my class. Ten points from Gryffindor."
The whole class was now looking around at the three; Malfoy took the opportunity to flash POTTER STINKS across the dungeon at Harry.
Snape's black eyes glittered as they fell on Skeeters's article. "Potter has to keep up with his press cuttings..."
The dungeon rang with the Slytherins' laughter, and an unpleasant smile curled Snape's thin mouth.
"At least it's not me that's getting points off for reading Teen Witch." mumbled Lavender.
