***Sebastian's POV***
I cover my mouth with my hand to hide the ear splitting grin that is plastered across my face. Grey and Mak are arguing, again. Mark and I watch in entertainment as they fight over who is holding Cara. We have watched this shit show every time we join them for breakfast. Three days she has been home. Three days comedy hour has amused us ridiculously.
We moved out at the last minute. We had all these grandiose plans to do so on a time table. Well, that fell through. Instead, we moved out at the same time that the retailers were picking up the grey, blue and yellow items from the baby shower. Cara's room is a soft rose pink with a beautiful steel grey. Elephants are plastered from one end of that room to the other. Personally, I really love the night lamp. The trunk holds the bulb. It's so fucking cute.
Anyways, comedy hour is on.
"Mak you have to eat." Grey reaches into his husband's cradled arms to pluck the tiny baby from Mak. A snarl stops Grey mid air. Tucking his hands under his forearms, he glares at Mak. Mark bumps my shoulder with his elbow, gesturing for me to pay attention. I am. Oh, I am.
"I'm not hungry. I ate last night." Mak puts his eyes on the cherub in his arms. Mak smiles before whispering to the baby. Cara sleeps, unknowingly causing so much damn drama.
"No, you did not. As a matter of fact, I can't recall you eating in a bit. She isn't going anywhere. Damn it Mak, you have to share. I'm her dad too." Grey pouts like a gigantic fucking baby. I swear my stomach is gonna split from my rolling laughter.
"I will eat later. What if she cries? Then I will have wasted my food because I'm just going to have to soothe her. It's better if I just tend to her." Mak walks away as if the case is closed. We know Grey is getting far past impatient.
"We should just hire a Nanny. You are taking this parenting thing too far. She is able to sleep without you watching over her like a fucking stalker." Grey huffs out his irritation. I blow a low whistle through my teeth while getting ready for the blow out.
"Nanny? Um, Fuck You. I didn't have a child just to pass her off like someone else's responsibility. This is my baby. I want to be with her as much as possible." Laying the baby down in the cradle, Mak rocks her gently as if she is putting up any type of fuss. She is not.
"Our." Grey pinches the bridge of his nose as he closes his eyes. His head shakes back and forth slowly. The sad slump of his shoulders makes me wonder why Mak is not comprehending what the hell he just said.
"What?" Mak turns his head to incredulously glare at Grey. I pull Mark closer to me. I don't like this. Shit just got way deeper than I was prepared for.
"You said your baby. I guess I thought she was ours." Grey walks away to exit to the balcony. Mark moves to console him. I hold my boyfriend back. This isn't our place. We probably should have left before it got to this point.
Mak looks between Mark and me. I shake my head. That kid needs to apologize. He really stepped on Grey's toes.
"Can you, um, watch over her for a minute?" Mak glances between the balcony and the cradle. We nod our heads, excusing Mak to mend his mishap.
"Wow. He kinda took that too far." I whisper lowly as Mark and I approach the baby. Cara sleeps through the mayhem. She looks so angelic swaddled in her blankets as she sleeps peacefully.
"He is just really trying to prove he was made for this. I'm sure he didn't realize. Everything will be fine." Mark reaches into the cradle to swipe his pinky across the warm cheek of little Parker. Watching him stare at her makes me want our own child. We can't go there yet. I just know that when we do, it will be magical.
