"Izuku! Cmon it's my birthday let's go." Ochako yells.
I yawn and groggily get up out of bed. Today's Ochakos 8th birthday, I got her a cute little bracelet with a charm on it with her name. Hopefully she likes it. It's almost identical to the one she got me.
I run over to my closet and grab it out. I put it in a small box and stuff it into my pockets. I smile and run out into the kitchen.
"Hey Ochako! Happy birthday!" I basically scream.
"Yeah I'm so happy, I'm finally 8 so close to the double digits!" She responds.
"Yeah, it's great!" I respond.
"Let's go outside after we eat okay?" She says.
"Yeah!" I respond enthusiastically.
We eat cereal and run outside. It's just us but we usually are like that anyways unless at school. On the weekends we have fun and run around for hours on end. Today we did just that, fun till the night time, for dinner we had the usual ramen but I made it this time for her.
"So, what are we gonna do for my birthday?" I ask.
"I'm gonna be turning 9 in 7 and a half months." I say smiling.
"I hate that your older than me." She says puffing her cheeks and crossing her arms.
"Yeah, yeah.....anyways I got you something!" I say putting my hands behind my back.
Her eyes light up even brighter and she runs at me.
"What is it,what is it!" She says clawing at my shirt.
"Hey! Calm down or I won't give it to you!" I say to get her off of me.
She immediately obliged, let go and stepped back a few feet.
"Okay now." I say bringing the box in front of me.
"Here." I say.
She stares at the box and then snatches it out of my hand.
"Now, don't be to disappointed." I say smiling.
She opens the box and pulls out the bracelet. She stares at it for a minute before slipping it on her right wrist. She looks back at me and smiles while running into me and hugging me.
I almost trip but keep my balance and hug her back.
"Thanks so much Izuku, I love it so much." She says still buried in my chest.
"Of course, I thought you'd want a matching one to the one you gave me." I respond.
"Yeah, and I'm happy you thought of that." She mumbles.
She pulls away and smiles at me with her arms still wrapped around me.
"I'm happy you care about me like no one else will." She says with tears rolling down her face.
I frown.
"Izuku, can you promise me something?" She asks.
"Anything you want." I quickly respond.
"Can you make sure, even if no one is with me, that you will always be by my side, for the rest of my life?" She asks.
There's a long silence before I speak.
"Of course, I could never let you go."
I know this is shorter but going back to present in the same chapter would be awkward.
