Five, Vanya, and I were currently all sitting in Vanya's living room.

"I survived on scraps. Canned food, cockroaches, anything I could find." Five stated as he held a cup of coffee. My nose scrunched up slightly, the thought of eating cockroaches sounded like a nightmare. Five chuckled a bit before saying, "you know that rumor that Twinkies have an endless shelf life?" Vanya and I nodded our heads as Five took another sip of his coffee. "Well, it's total bullshit."

"I can't even imagine." Vanya commented. Yeah, no shit sherlock.

"You do whatever it takes to survive, or you die." Five said, sadness starting to lace his voice. I reached over and grabbed his hand, trying to comfort him in the slightest or smallest way I could. I could tell talking about the apocalypse was hard for Five. "So we adapted." We? "Whatever the world through at us, we found a way to overcome it." Us? That was enough to make me drop his hand. He was with another person?

Vanya seemed to be thinking the same as I was. "We?"

Five just sighed, raising his glass and asking, "you got anything stronger?" Vanya nodded. Hesitantly, she grabbed his glass and walked over to her cabinet. She got out some liquor and poured it in Five's glass, then handing it back to him.

Five took a long sip of it before looking back up at Vanya. I came to stand next to him and noticed Five was staring her straight in the eyes and shaking his head a little. "You think I'm crazy?"

"N-no. It's just...it's a lot to take in." Vanya said, stuttering.

"Exactly what don't you understand?" Five asked our sister rudely.

"Why didn't you just time travel back?" Vanya asked dumbly.

I mentally face palmed as Five scoffed and sneered, "gee, wish I had thought of that. Time travel is a crapshoot. I went into the ice and never acorn-ed. You think I didn't try everything to get back to my family. My best friend." Five motioned his hand towards me.

Vanya nodded slowly before asking, "if you grew old there, you know, in the apocalypse, how come you still look like a kid?"

"Oh my god, Vanya! Think for once in your life, please! We already told you more then once that Five got the equations wrong!" I snapped as I walked over to Vanya's cabinet. I grabbed a glass and the bottle of liquor, pouring me some and downing the bitter liquid.

"I mean dad always used to say that time travel could mess up your mind. Well, maybe that's what happening?" Vanya asked as Five scoffed again, walking over next to me and pouring himself some more liquor as I leaned on the counter, drinking mine.

Five set his cup down abruptly as he grabbed my hand, pulling me towards the door. "This was a mistake. Your too young, too naïve to understand."

"No, Five...Five wait." Vanya called to us.

Five paused in his steps for a brief second, not even turning around to look at our sister. "I haven't seen you in a long time, and I don't want to lose you again."

"Aw, that's sweet. Let's go." I urged Five.

"Y/N, wait. Please. It's getting late, and I have lesson early, and I need to sleep. I'm sure you two need to as well. I only have one couch but I'm sure you could fit. Here." Vanya told us, laying out a blanket on her small couch. "We'll talk in the morning again. Okay? I promise. Night."

Five and I watched as Vanya walked into her room. I muttered a small 'night' as I went to sit down on the couch. Five joined me, pulling something out of his pocket. He unwrapped the piece of fabric, revealing a glass eye.
