"That boy?"

Sophie's POV

   We walked into Havenfield to see Grady pacing around with a worried look on his face while Edaline sat on the couch wringing her fingers. "Hey mom and dad," I greeted. 

   They looked up and relief washed over their features as they yelled, "Sophie! You're ok."

   I nodded and said, "I'm fine. But we need to contact the Black Swan, now." 

   "We'll do that later, but first we need to make sure you kids are ok," Edaline said gently as she pulled out a first-aid kit. 

  But Grady was being more attentive, "Where's Siena?" Hearing this, everyone stiffened and Edalines head whipped up. I explained everything and told them why we needed to contact the Black Swan. They nodded and my dad called Mr. Forkle while my mom made sure that all of us were ok.

   "What do you mean you lost Siena?" Forkle screeched barging into the very silent room. Everyone stayed quiet while Mr. Forkle composed himself. He repeated his earlier question and I opened my mouth to answer it, but Keefe interrupted and told the story himself. He was obviously trying to control his anger and frustration when explaining but it was nearly concealed.

   I took his hand gently and whispered to him, "We'll get her back." He took a deep breath and looked at me, he nodded and leaned his head on my shoulder. Then suddenly I remembered where I was. My friends didn't pay attention to us because they were used to it but Mr. Forkle raised an eyebrow while Edaline looked at us with googly eyes. I turned to Grady to see his reaction, it didn't surprise me when I saw that his face was red with a lot of constrained anger. 

   Looking away from Keefe and me, Mr. Forkle said, "Meet me in my office tomorrow at 7 a.m, we'll make a plan to get her back."

   "We don't have that kind of time. We need to make a plan now," Fitz snapped. There were a few murmurs of agreement from the crew.

   Mr. Forkle sighed, "I know why you might feel that way and I understand. But you guys look exhausted and you make rash decisions when you are tired." Fitz opened his mouth to protest but was cut off by Forkle saying, "End of conversation." And he leaped away to who knows where. After a couple of minutes of silence, Fitz stomped off into the pastures.

   Biana sighed and got up as well, "I should go home now, I'll make sure Fitz is ok." I nodded and stood up to hug her goodbye. She gave me a tired smile and looked at our friends and waved before pecking Tam on the cheek and walked out to find Fitz.

   "You and Biana and already gross and cute," Keefe said teasingly to Tam while he gave Keefe an unamused expression. 

   Tam got up and informed, "I'm going home as well." He lived in a huge apartment in Atlantis.

   Linh nodded and got up, "I should go home too." Linh wanted to live in Atlantis, but Tam didn't want her to because it was too dangerous for her. She knew better than to argue with her brother when he already let her accept a job in Atlantis. 

   "We are going to Atlantis to pick up some pictures," Marella said as she got up with Dex. I'm pretty sure those pictures are the ones of Fitz and Siena. I nodded as they all leaped away.

   "Bye Wylie," I said as he got up and lifted his pathfinder in the sky, he smiled at me before leaping away. 

  "Well," Keefe sighed getting up from the sofa, "I should probably get going."

  "You're not going anywhere young man," Grady's voice yelled. Keefe's eyes widened as he slowly turned around to see my glaring father.

   "Dad," I started.

   He interrupted me and asked in exasperation, "That boy?" I sighed and nodded.

   Edaline squealed and exclaimed, "You two look so cute together!" Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Keefe grin at her. 

   "Grady, look, I love her. I've loved her since I saw her. I would never hurt her or betray her," Keefe said looking at my father with a serious expression. He seemed to mean everything he just said which made my heart flutter. 

   Grady sighed and rubbed his temple told Keefe, "You and I will have a long talk, but right now go home and rest. And if you hurt or betray her I will hunt you down." Keefe gulped and nodded.
