"And Tam?"

Keefe's POV

I was in a hospital room, waited for my check-up. Physic was checking Biana for injuries, she was ghostly pale and her eyes were glassy. She didn't move and when we asked her anything, she gave us short answers. I'm not surprised, her boyfriend is dead. Well... we don't know that yet, but I refuse to get my hopes up. I turned to my right, Siena was cleaned up and was now resting in a cot. She looked much better but she was sleeping, according to Elwin. I held her hand, silently begging for her to wake up. I was afraid of how she would react when she found out about Tam, he was like a brother to her. I leaned my head against the back of the cot and closed my eyes.

"When is Siena going to wake up?" I heard Sophie ask. I opened my eyes and looked at Elwin for an answer.

He sighed and said, "I'm not sure but it will take at least 24 hours for her body to completely heal from those injuries." I let out a breath.

Livvy came over to me and started to give me things to drink to heal my bruises and cuts. She said, "Stay strong Keefe, she's fine."

I gave her a tired smile and said, "I know. She is my sister after all." She gave me a tight smile. No one really talked for the rest of the time we were in the room.

After all of us got checked up, we went to the HQ. We decided to wait before we tell Forkle and the others. The crew wanted to process everything first, but I don't think that any of this actually went into our heads. Linh wasn't with us at the moment, she got checked up and we all insisted that she go home and rest. Wyle went with her. If Tam were here, he'd have a lot to say about that.

When we got to the headquarter, we found Mr. Forkle pacing around in front of the room while the Vackers, Redeks, and the Ruewens were crying. My heart clenched at the sight of the parents crying because of how worried they are. The bodyguards were huddled in a corner, discussing something and the Collective were looking at a map, probably thinking about an attack strategy if something went wrong. I cleared my throat to get their attention. Their faces filled with happiness and relief when they noticed us. They all rushed to us and there were many hugs and even more questions. None of us could answer the questions because of all the overlapped discussions.

When everything calmed down the bodyguards asked, "What happened?"

Before anyone of us could answer, Mr. Forkle asked, "Where are the rest of you kids?" Referring to Linh, Wylie, Siena and Tam. How were we supposed to tell them about Tam?

"Siena's with Elwin and Livvy," I started. The adults smiled, happy that Siena was back.

"Linh and Wylie went home," Marella added and hugged Dex, burying her face in his chest knowing that the hardest part was coming. Juline smiled slightly seeing that and Kesler just looked confused.

   "And Tam?" Forkle pressed.

Granite nodded, "It isn't like him to let Linh go home with a boy. Alone." No one wanted to say it but Sophie opened her mouth to speak. But nothing came out. Now everyone looked concerned.

"Tam's gone," Biana burst out, she sounded so broken. I went over to her and hugged my sort of sister just as the room exploded. The adults were shocked and yelling for us to tell them what happened.

After the room turned silent, Granite asked with a hard voice, "What do you mean gone?"

"He saved Wylie from a falling piece of debris with his telekinesis. But his strength gave out because he was already tired from what he did earlier," Sophie explained. Biana trembled in my arms and I hugged her closer to me, Fitz joined in on the hug. The adults all looked confused, that's when I realized that they didn't know what happened with the Neverseen army. I filled them in and then they understood the story.

"So he's dead," Edaline said quietly, wiping her tears.

Dex explained with a shaky voice, "We don't know that for sure, but there is a minimal chance that he survived."

"We will go to the site right now with some Black Swan members and retrieve all the bodies and Mr. Tam," Mr. Forkle said in a grave voice. I hated to believe that we were the cause of the deaths, but also grateful that Mr. Forkle didn't call Tam a body. Forkle gave us instructions for us to go home and rest and we decided to obey without a fight. The Vackers went home to Everglen while Granite went home to check up on Wylie and Linh. The Dizznee family also went home so the triplets could see that their older brother was ok. Marella went home with her parents as well. I raised my arm to go to my Atlantic apartment but Sophie grabbed my hand. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow. She smiled sadly and said, "Come to Havenfeild with us. The last thing you need right now is to be alone." I looked and Edaline and Grady, silently asking for permission. Edaline smiled and nodded while Grady didn't look like he wanted to kill me. I took that as a yes.

"Alright Soph," I said putting my pathfinder away.
