Hey guys!
I told you there was more! It's spring break so I'm going to try and get a good portion of writing done this week. Thanks for sticking by me!
The next morning, I woke up next to Mat, who was stirring in bed but hadn't yet opened his eyes. So I leaned over and kissed him, to which he rustled and opened his eyes. "Well good morning." He says, sleepily. "Good morning handsome." I respond, getting out of bed to change for our hike. Mat reaches over and pinches my butt as I'm walking away from the bed and I let out a little squeal.
We come out of the bedroom to start our day and Mat's dad is at the counter, paying attention to the morning news. "Oh, good morning hon." He says when he sees me. He gives me a hug and asks me if I wanted coffee. "No thanks I'm ok, we're getting ready for our hike." I say. "We should get going before it gets terribly hot." Mat says, almost ushering me out the door. "Not that I would mind that at all my man all hot and sweaty." I mutter under my breath and reaching up to kiss him. "Alright kids, get going." Mike says from the kitchen. "See you later dad!" Mat calls, grabbing his keys and wallet before closing the door behind us.
After we stopped for a quick breakfast, we headed to the woods for our hike. Mat had a small Bluetooth speaker and put it and his phone in one of the pockets of my small backpack. And so we began our hike. After a while, we stopped by a waterfall to take a break. The mist from the waterfall sprayed my legs and face. "This is nice." I say. "Yeah, I know. The mist feels good, I didn't realize how hot I actually was." Mat says. "No I was talking about us, here. No screaming fans, loud music, no injuries or training regiment. As fun as hockey season is, I'm just kind of liking spending all this time with you, it's going to be tough having to share you." I explain, leaning my head on his shoulder. "Oh I get it. But you know we'll be living together so when you get home from work, I'll be home from practice and then we can go to my games together. We'll be together a lot, just broken up by hockey." He says. "Plus you'll have all your girlfriends like Sophia and the WAGS so you'll probably spend just as much time with them." He adds. "Yeah I know, it's just not going to feel the same as this summer, right now. No commitments." I say. "Yeah I get that." Mat says, kissing the top of my head. "You ready to keep going?" He asks. "Yeah, lets go." I say. "Hey LC." Mat says as I start to walk away. "Yes my love?" I say as I turn back to him. "I love you." "I love you too, 13." I say, smiling.
