The day before Mat and I go back to New York quicker than I thought or even wanted. We went out to dinner with Mat's family and reminisced on all we had done this summer. It was definitely one for the record books. We go through all the pictures on my phone from the summer and a good majority of them are me and Mat laying in bed or fishing or hiking. There's a few of me and Liana and a few of me and his parents that he took of us. I post a couple on Instagram with the caption: "Headed back to New York tomorrow... almost wishing I was staying. Canada was so good to me." Sophia is the first to comment back with "Can't wait to see you and Mat on Friday!"
When we get back home, Mat and I wrap up the last of the packing we had to do and load most of it into Mat's mom's SUV. We work pretty late into the night to make sure all our Canadian loose ends are tied up before heading back to the states. Mat also receives info about his first practice and preseason game.
