The answer was simple.

He wasn't.

He wasn't going.

Everyone had agreed.

Until they had this whole situations settled with, Naruto wasn't coming.

And Naruto didn't like that.

He kicked and screamed, but his other-wordly power Kakashi had faced was gone.

And he was subdued.

And being placed in a cell didn't sit well with Naruto.

So he tried to retaliate.

Oh he tried.

And ultimately failed.

Team Kakashi came back.

And there mission was a success.

If just barely.

Sakura's speech had really come in handy.

And again and again.

That cycle had repeated.

And he was stuck in his cell.

Until one day, they couldn't restrain him.

"What are we gonna do then!" 100 days.

100 days since he heard a familiar voice.

But surely, he was let out once in a while

No! No, he wasn't!

And he was sick of being left there.

He started up his voice...

And then he heard the sound.

The sound that saved him.

The sound was a revelation, it was his introduction to the outside world.

In God knows how many days.

And what he saw broke him.

He saw the village.

The village which he had apparently grown up in, destroyed.

The village he didn't know, but used to know.

And his unrestrained anger from being trapped so long, and the feelings of rage that came from the dead bodies burst forth.

And his body enveloped itself with a gold aura.

And he attacked and flailed at someone, anyone.

That guy just so happened to be responsible.

So, he rushed towards the unknown red haired entity.

And starting aiming his anger towards him.

And he strung up his fists.

And he unleashed them into emptiness, as he's blown back by an unknown force.

'What?' He thought.

'This was surely not possible.'

'How could it be?'

And his mind began to ring.

It started shouting at him.

That he had changed it. He had changed his outcome.

That was not what was supposed to happen.

He wasn't supposed to be able to do this.

It was his fault.

The voice starting to beat Naruto up.

If he even was Naruto.

It started to mentally tear Naruto down.

Until he was a crying mess on the floor.

And the screams of pain had halted, and his own agony overpowered the environment.

And then, the volume had halted.

And lightning enveloped his aura, exchanging the weakness with strength.

And he finally looked.

Looked.

And he saw a fixable environment.

And he looked at himself.

And he saw a red head trying (and failing) to stab him.

And Naruto powered up.

And the red head turned to ash.

And his chakra started leading towards a direction.

'Chakra?' he had caught himself.

He didn't have time to think as he was curious.

So he leapt towards the chakra.

And was kicked down.

It didn't hurt, but was still surprising.

There were more.

And he powered up again.

And the same thing happened.

There were more chakra lines.

And he followed them without a thought.

Past a base.

Past a hideout.

And he was met with a masked man.

And the masked man was surprised.

He saw Naruto, and then he started to laugh.

"So this is the power of the kyuubi!"

If he wasn't wearing a mask, you would've thought he licked his lips.

His surprise turned into pleasure.

And his pleasure turned into displeasure when he took a look at how powerful I seemed.

And I stared.

And Naruto stared.

"Who?"

Who was he?

Was he really Na-

"Me?" The masked man replied, interrupting Naruto's thoughts. "I'm Madara Uchiha!"

And dozens of images of pain and suffering filled his thought process.

This man was pain.

At least, the cause of his.

And he lunged.
