Bashful and quiet, silenced by the dead.

Rustling through the dull leaves, Adeline was holding her books in one hand and a rosewood umbrella in the other; cold rain was pouring from the dark sky.

Adeline looked at the castle, but this year, the castle didn't seem so charming and welcoming. Shivers went down her spine. Adeline coughed, realising that the green tea she drank in the morning was no help.

The atmosphere in Hogwarts hasn't been great; after last year's incident, nobody was safe. Many students left the school.

It's a shame that Harry Potter was being accused of lying about Lord Voldemort's come-back.

Students gathered by their tables; waiting for Professor Dumbledore to give his yearly speech.

Students were chatting, reuniting with their buddies. Sadly, Adeline didn't have anyone to talk to.

Peering down at the ground, she thought about what will happen now, that Voldemort is back.

"He will try to kill Harry Potter again, that's for sure." Adeline believed. She yawned out of boredom; waiting for Dumbledore to speak.

Everyone turned their head to the headmaster. He welcomed the students and just like every year - introduced our new Defence Against the Dark Arts professor.

A short woman with wide eyes stood up from her seat. Dumbledore exclaimed that her name is Dolores Umbridge.

Before Dumbledore could say anything, the new teacher slowly stomped in front of him and interrupted his lecture.

She smiled from ear to ear and spoke, "The Ministry of Magic has always considered the education of young witches and wizards to be of vital importance...There again, progress for progress's sake must be discouraged, for our tried and tested traditions often require no tinkering... Let us move forward, then, into a new era of openness, effectiveness, and accountability, intent on preserving what thought to be preserved, perfecting what needs to be perfected, and pruning wherever we find practices that thought to be prohibited."

Dumbledore announced that students can begin eating.

Adeline swallowed a piece of steak. After a chilling day outside, she felt as the warm food was going down her sore, cold throat.

Piece by piece, Adeline finished her meal. She walked out of the Great Hall; shaking.

While strolling through the corridors of the palace, she remembered when things were easy; when it wasn't so difficult.

Adeline reached the west side of Hogwarts. An old spiral staircase was in front of her.

Climbing up the stairs, she could vividly remember her first time entering the common room. The Ravenclaw common room.

After entering, the girl  roamed around;  Graceful arched windows punctuated the walls, which were hung with blue and bronze silks. By day, the Ravenclaws would have a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. The ceiling was domed and painted with stars, which were echoed in the midnight-blue carpet. There were tables, chairs, and bookcases.

The creaking wooden floors were still as loud as in first year.

But everyone changed, peope have changed drastically.

Nobody to trust, nobody to talk to. Just sitting alone, thinking about your next move.

Until the next life.
