THUNDER.

——— •⋆ •☆• ⋆• ———

Adeline drifted off, tired from the tedious train ride; right before she fell asleep, she saw a glimpse of the gleaming stars. Though they were bland; thick clouds covering them.

Thunder echoed through Adeline's mind; creating petrifying thoughts.

Opening her eyes, Adeline  felt disturbingly heavy sweat drip down her forehead. She looked at the painted ceiling; the girl wasn't in the Ravenclaw dorm anymore.

Wandering around the cold, lifeless area, Adeline saw a floating woman begging for mercy.

Taking a closer look, she recognized the lady - Professor Charity Burbage; the teacher of Muggle studies.

Adeline was muddled. She now noticed that people were seated around a long table; they were talking, but Adeline couldn't hear them.

She walked by everybody, like a ghost; scared to death.

"Why is Malfoy's father; Lucius Malfoy here? Strange..." she thought. Subsequently, she spotted Professor Snape; glancing up at Professor Burbage.

A fragile voice echoed from the walls; she pleaded Severus to save her. Professor Snape looked her in the eyes; his bottom lip shaking.

A green flash hit Charity and she dropped dead on the table.

Adeline's heart sank; her cry was piercing.

A gigantic snake crawled onto the table; "Kill... kill" it whispered. As the snake creeped on the wooden table, it opened it's big mouth; motioning that it's going to swallow the woman.

Adeline lifted up screaming. In a state of panic, she continued to sob and cry inaudibly.

Luna Lovegood heard everything and quickly stepped to Adeline. She sighed and patted the whimpering girl's back; "What happened? Did you have a night terror?" Luna questioned with a soft voice of empathy.

Adeline didn't talk; only shed tears. Luna hugged her and silently whispered in Adeline's ear, "It's okay, don't cry. If you want to, I can accompany you to the Astronomy tower."

Adeline's head slightly tilted to Luna's shoulder as the kind girl stroke her fingers through Adeline's black hair.

Luna gripped Adeline by her shoulders and looked straight in her soft green eyes. "Adeline, lift up your head, enjoy your life. I know, things have been hard since last year, but we're alive, that's what matters!" Adeline wiped her nose on the sleeve of her pyjamas and gave Luna a friendly smile.

"No need to lead me to the tower, I can go by myself. Luna, go sleep; you must be tired. I'll come back in an hour or two." Adeline said with her nose still runny. Luna nodded and calmly rested on her bed; closing her eyes and going back to sleep.

The wind was destructive; aggressively blowing through Adeline's hair. Thunder could still be heard in the distance, rain was still pouring; the noise of it calming the girl.

As she heard an intense screech of a cat, Adeline turned back to the fluffy little creature.

Yuki was softly growling; the kitty loudly meowed, demanding to be petted.

Adeline lifted Yuki on her knees; stroking the kitty's white fur.

"In a world where a lot of things happen, fake smiles are old fashioned. These days I don't trust smiles. You need to work on your fake smile, even your cat doesn't believe it!"

The best people come unexpectedly.

Adeline was stunned; Yuki jumped off and ran out, hissing.

"Y..you?" She stuttered; confused, and very curious. "I think I need to go now... I'm very exhausted, bye." Adeline stood up from her sitting position on the windowsill.

"Hey, hey calm down. You just came here and you're already leaving?" Malfoy scoffed while tilting his head.

Adeline tried to leave, but being stronger, he easily held her back by her wrist.

He touched her and it felt as if the stars were dancing on her skin

"Adeline Dupree, we haven't met in a while. Don't you remember the good times we had? Darling, I don't want to ache, I want to love." Adeline glanced up at his face; Malfoy was licking his bottom lip and peering straight at her.

"It breaks my heart to ask why did you bring us so far if we were destined to fall apart. I fell for it one time, I learn from my mistakes. Let me go, please." Adeline was heavily breathing; her heart pounding and tears shedding.

She felt the hand on her wrist loosen; quickly, Adeline moved her hand to the other, caressing the mark that Malfoy's tight grip had left.

"Well, go then. But if you decide to come back, I will be here." He said, and stumbled to the balcony of the Astronomy Tower; leaning on the railing.

Adeline's mind was all over the place. She wasn't sure wether to stay or go.

Slowly, Adeline began strolling to the spiral stairs, that lead down. She was trying to walk away and hold on at the same time. That's the mind, at war with heart.

Adeline trusted her mind, which told her to stay away from Malfoy.

Yuki came along; they were at the bottom of the staircase, ready to go to bed.

With each step, she heard something; a woman's voice, begging Adeline not to leave. As she continued walking, it became unbearable; "Please, don't leave, I beg you!" The voice sobbed. Adeline fell to the ground; on her knees, grasping her head.

"Let it hurt until it can't hurt anymore."

"The right one will stay, maybe a little away, but they will always stay."
