Chapter 7

Chases POV

To say I'm impressed would be an understatement. I'm amazed. Two hits and she knocked Carter out cold. No wonder she's the champion. She's incredible.

Me and ash went over to check on Carter. He still wasn't awake. I looked up at Aurora, she immediately walked away when I did.

Staff brought Carter to a small infirmary they had for the injured fighters. The doctor told us that he'd wake up in the next hour or two. Damn how hard did she hit him. The doctor also said that he needs a few days rest for his ribs. She hit them when they were already injured badly and made it worse. Now I'm pissed at that. Carter is my second in command I guess you could say. He helped me plan shipments and a bunch of other shit. Now he's on bed rest for two weeks. It's his own fault. He was already injured from a mission last night and I told him to skip the fight but him and his ego couldn't miss the spotlight.

"I'll come get you when he wakes up." The doctor stated. "Thank you" Asher replied. We walked out and headed towards the bar. I caught sight of Aurora. She was claiming her money for winning the match. After that she left.

Nevaeh's POV

It's the day after the fight and my bodies aching. I came home to my uncle waiting in my room for me. He screamed at me asking where I've been and that I'm, let's just say 'sleeping around. I got a pretty nasty beating. He slashed my back a couple of times with his belt, and my back was in constant pain. I got little to no sleep last night, since my back was sore It hurt to lie down.

I'm in the middle of taking a steaming shower. It stung my back at first but is now helping my muscles relax and helping ease the pain on my back.

I got out of the shower and got changed. It was a difficult challenge as I was so stiff not trying to move my back. I got changed into sweatpants and a jumper. I wasn't too concerned on how I looked. Today I only cared that my outfit was comfy and loose so that my clothes wouldn't be tight on my back.

As I made my way into school, I saw sienna, chase and ash standing at my locker.

"Hey cutie, wow you look like shit" ash says. "ASH!" Sienna shouts while smacking him upside the head. "Don't listen to him, you look good just a bit tired" she says while giving me a hug. I flinch and the sudden contact on my back and go stiff. I see chase looking at me with furrowed eyes. I look away and say "yeah maybe because I am, I didn't sleep at all last night" I said burrowing my face into the crook of siennas neck and sighing. "Why not?" She asks. Oh god. Uhh what's a good excuse? "I just couldn't sleep, one of those nights you know?" I say hoping she'll believe me, and thankfully she did. "Hey where's Carter?" I asked. I already knew but they didn't know that. "Oh, he's got a stomach bug he should be back next week or so" said ash. I nodded with my head still in siennas shoulder.

The bell rung and I still didn't move. "Come on vaya you gotta get your books for your classes" said sienna pulling back " uhhhhh" I groaned. Her and ash laughed and went to class. I got my books and slammed my locker shut.

I jumped in surprise when I saw chase still standing there staring at me. I stiffened as the sudden movement causing my back to ache. I clenched my jaw, trying not to show the pain through my face.

"You need something" I asked him. " what's wrong" he said. "Huh?" "Your back" he stated. Heck, he noticed. "Nothings wrong with my back" I said and started to walk pass him to my next class. Suddenly I felt a sharp pain on my back and weirdly enough some tingles. I hissed at the pain. I looked back to see a look of 'you sure about that' on chases face. I ignored him and quickly walked to my class.

Chase had been glaring at me all day. It's pretty annoying. He'd glare at me every class we shared together and at break. I was getting sick of it. It was last class and I had a free period. Sienna didn't have a free period, so she was in class and god knows where chase and ash are at, but anywhere away from me is good enough.

I was laying down outside, on the grass, at the soccer pitches. No one was here and it's really warm out today so now I'm sunbathing, and yes I am boiling with my choice of clothing, but it's a nice heat.

I opened my eyes when I felt someone sit down beside me. It was chase. He sat there staring straight at me. I stared back at him. "Yes?" I asked. He didn't answer me. I sighed and went back to sunbathing. Next of all, I feel someone lie down beside me. I looked over at him to see he had his eyes closed. He looked relaxed which is a rare sight.

Suddenly I spoke up "what's your favourite colour?" I asked. Stupid, stupid. I face palmed mentally. He didn't answer so I kept going. "I'm guessing black , like your soul. But then Again you could be like a red kinda guy too, like blood red to be more precise, just because it's blood. You could also secretly be a purple guy, but the doesn't suit your character very mu-"

"If I tell you, will you shut the fuck up?!" He asked quite aggressively. "Yes, indeed I will" I said " I don't have one" he stated. "WHAT! Oh come on you've gotta have atleast one colour you like" I exaggerated.
"Come on I'll help you" I stated. "What colour do you find yourself drawn to, or find most appealing?" I say to him while looking at him " he turns his head towards me and looks me straight in the eyes. "Light blue" he said still looking at me. Only now do I realise our close proximity. I take in all his features. He's beautiful in every way and the sun shining down on him makes him look like a Greek god.

I see him staring at my lips, and I bite it in anticipation. He reaches up and untucks my bottom lip from under my teeth. "Don't do that" he says with a strained voice. "Sorry" I whisper softly, my eyes now focusing on his lips. I see him start to lean in and I close my eyes waiting for his lips to touch mine. I can feel his hot breath on my lips but before his lips touch mine, we suddenly jerk back at the sound of our friend shouting at us " FINALLY, class is over. I couldn't bear another class with mr. Brick, he's soooo boring" sienna claimed lying down beside me. She layed her head on my shoulder and let out a content sigh. I smiled at her.

Finally ash came from wherever the hell he was and we left school.

I came home from a 2 hour shift at the café. It was a busy day. I plopped down on my bed and started my homework. I was going to sleep early as I wasn't going to be going to the underground for the next few days as my back was too bad.

A few hours later I finished my homework, got ready for bed and went to sleep with one person on my mind.
