Chapter 30: Rhearsal Dinner

Everything was in place, people were staring to arrive. Brendan's parents sure did a good job on the dinner. I walked down the stairs catching the attention of everyone. "Ava?"

"Babe you look beautiful. I don't think beautiful is even enough to describe it.", he smiled. "You look dazzling my darling." The smooth sound of the piano was playing in the back round. I poured myself a glass of white wine. "This is marvelous Ava." My mother said. "You're getting married tomorrow. This is exciting" my father kissed my cheek.

"Dinner is served!" Hellen called out. Everyone made their way to the dining room. The children had their own separate table. I couldn't believe the house was big enough to fit all these people. A huge turkey sat in the middle of the table along with other foods and bottles of wine. Brendan and I sat at the head of the table.

"I'd like to give a toast, to my fiancé." Brendan said. Everyone gave their attention him. "Tomorrow will be the day I will never forget. I am going to Marry Ava, and make her mine forever. I will always love and cherish her. Ava and I never really thought we'd fall in love but it happened, and when I did I knew I wanted to make her mine forever. I love you Ava." Everyone tapped their glasses against others and drank. People around us were awing.

The food was magnificent. "This is really good.", I said. "I'm glad you like it, because I didn't cook. I had the food catered." Hellen laughed. John glared at her. "So Ava, are you excited?", Rebecca asked while feeding the baby a bottle. I nodded my head and smiled at her.

"I want to thank you all for coming out here tonight.", I spoke. I felt Brendan's hand brush against my thigh. I pushed his hand away. This was not the time for this. It was inappropriate and we had guests. "Stop it.", I whispered at him. He shot me a glance. "Brendan not now.", I said nudging my elbow into his rib cage. He jumped. Everyone at the table looked at us.

After dinner we all went to where the piano was playing. Brendan let his hand out in front of me. "May I have this dance?", he asked. "Yes, such a gentleman.", I chuckled. The soothing song the piano played moved through my body. Such a romantic sound. Brendan spun me around and we danced till our feet couldn't dance anymore.

I felt someone grab my hand. Jacob? "You look beautiful.", he smiled. I blushed. "Thank you."

"Can I have a word with you please.", Jacob said grabbing a glass a wine. I led him to the study room was. "What's up?", I asked. "You look very beautiful Ava. I've never seen this side of you before." Jacob said biting his lip. Don't get me wrong, Jake was hot, he was always hot but we dated in college and that was a long time ago, I'm engaged now and I'm happy. Jacobs hand brushed the side of my cheek.

"Why did I ever let you go?", he whispered. I slapped his hand away. "Jacob your with Rebecca, you guys have a child. Cut it out." I wanted to slap him in his face so badly. Hitting on me a day before my wedding, was he serious !? "You're lucky I don't tell Rebecca, get it together.", I walked away angrily. What a complete ass!

"Hey what's wrong." I ran into Brendan. "Oh nothing, just had to fix my makeup that's all.", I lied. "You look great don't sweat It."

"Dinner was great.", abby said. Jeff was over by David, one of the guys I worked with. Brendan's best man was here to. His wife still didn't have the baby yet. "Hey Carla, how are you." I kissed her on the cheek. "I'm great, the food was amazing. I wish I could have a glass of wine but you know." Carla rubbed her huge pregnant belly.

The dinner lasted almost all night. People were leaving out and saying their goodbyes.

"I'm exhausted!". I sighed. "Me too but I can't wait to get you out of that dress!", Brendan said. "Not tonight, you can have all of me tomorrow after the wedding, I promise."
I've never turned down Brendan before but tonight I knew it would be the right thing to do. When he sees me in that wedding dress he's going to melt. I slid out of my dress and hopped into the shower. I heard the bathroom door open.

"Brendan get out, I said no." I heard him groan and stomp out of the bathroom like a child. He was so cute. Tomorrow was the day. I was getting married. I had so many butterflies fluttering inside me right now and it's not even tomorrow yet. I just hope everything goes as planned.
