"No excuses. If you don't think so then let's head over to my best mans house tonight." Brendan took his cell phone out of his pocket.

"Hey Alex, it's me. Yeah so she doesn't believe me."

I looked at Brendan and rolled my eyes.

"Tonight. Seven o'clock alright. See you then."
***************
Brendan wasn't lying when he said he had friends. It's just I never seen him around any guys before. He usually went to work and then home. Some days in the week he went to the gym but that was it.

I stood in the doorway of our bathroom and watched as Brendan fixed the collar on his shirt. "You look handsome.", I smiled. I patted my dress down. Checking if there were any lint on me.

"You look beautiful.", he kissed my cheek.

"Shouldn't we start heading out, it's almost 7:00.", I pointed to the clock.

Alex had a beautiful home. Medium sized house was perfect for them. Brendan rung the door bell. A woman opened the door and greeted us. "Brendan Taylor, is that really you. And you must be Ava. It's such a pleasure to finally meet you." The woman said.

"It's nice too meet you as well...?"

"Oh I'm sorry where are my manners. My name is Carla, I'm Alex's wife." I looked down at the woman's stomach. She was pregnant.

"Please come on in.", she said.

The house smelled so good. Just like the garlic chicken my mom made back at home. The smell filled my nostrils.

Carla, was about the same height as me, 5"4. She was really pretty, and she carried herself gracefully. She had medium length dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. Alex came into the living room where Carla was pouring Brendan and I a glass of wine.

Alex was tall and fit. Caramel colored skin and green eyes. Definitely a football guy, it was always easy for me to tell what sport a guy might like before even knowing him. Sounds weird I know but I'm right some times.

"Brendan. What's up man." Alex came over to Brendan and gave a big man hug. "Hello, my name is Alex. It's so nice to finally meet you.". Alex shook my hand.

"Same to you.", I smiled. I took a quick sip of my wine. I was beginning to feel a little awkward. We sat at the dining table eating Carla's famous chicken parm.

"So you guys are getting married, oh my god.", Carla squealed.

I couldn't help but to smile. Yes I would be Mrs. Taylor soon, real soon. I couldn't wait even though I was so nervous. "I can't wait.", Alex said taking a bite out of a bread stick.

"Well I know for a fact I found the right girl guys. I'm not going to let her slip away." Brendan said looking into my eyes.

"Awwww." Carla whipped her fake tears.

After dinner Alex and Brendan went down into the basement for a game of pool. I stayed upstairs with Carla to help her clean up. "Ava, I can tell your nervous about this wedding.", she said.

I continued drying the dishes. "Yes, but how did you know?".

"I know because every woman gets nervous. Shit I was nervous when Alex and I got married. And then 2 years later, we're having a baby."

I looked down at her swollen like belly. She looked like she was ready to pop, just like Rebecca looked. "What is it like, being pregnant?", I asked.

Carla put the left overs in the refrigerator. "It's actually a beautiful thing. But the sore breast, the weight gaining, the swollen feet. That part sucks."
