"Looks like you both are in a good mood, this morning. Glad to see you getting along." Mom said to the twins as they came downstairs. Adina looked up at her as she sat down, eyebrows furrowed."What are you talking about? Clay and I never fight," Adina said as Clay came around the corner with an unreadable expression on his face. "Uh, you two bicker. It might be rare but you still do." Lainie said matter-of-factly.
"Eggs will be done in a minute. But go ahead and dig into the French toast." The twins mom said. She was now cutting up fruit and Clay was pouring himself a cup of coffee.
"Make that two, please." Adina said with a sigh as she plopped a chunk of pineapple into her mouth, and all Clay did was nod and grabbed another mug. He was being all... weird. Which wasn't, not normal, but it was like double his usual.
"Would either of you like some cream with that?" Mom asked.
"It's all right." He said taking a sip of his coffee and walking over to hand his twin her cup.
"Thank you." He nodded and wiped his hand on his pants before sitting next to her, letting out a tired sigh.
"You guys don't drink coffee." Dad said as he watched the two simultaneously bring their mugs up to their lips, before taking the same sip and setting it down in sync.
"We don't eat breakfast either so." Clay answered and AJ clinked her cup with his to that.
"Well it has been almost two weeks since we've all sat down and had dinner together, as a family. I am nothing if not a realist, so I am proposing that we have family breakfast everyday instead." She explained her plan which caused Aj to snort before she took her fork and played with the eggs that were put on the small plate front of her.
"We just all have to wake up a little bit early." She finished as she sat down after giving some eggs to Clay.
"How early did you have to get up, yesterday?" He asked and Aj chuckled in agreement. It was a lot for them considering none of them had large appetites.
"We won't do the large spread everyday, but it's nice to start off right." She said and she handed Adina a medium-sized plastic container of fruit. The small brunette gave her a small thanks. "So how'd your project end up last night? With Tony?" Mom asked clay and at that, AJ furrowed her eyebrows. "What project?" Adina asked him as she covered her mouth seeing as it was filled with pineapple.
He shrugged his shoulders. "Fine." Not only did he ignore her sisters questions, but he was clearly lying. Straight through his fucking teeth. Call it twin intuition or whatever you want.
"For history?" He looked up at AJ with slightly wide eyes before responding to his mom normally. He knew, that she knew, that he was lying. The twins had nearly all the same classes and the definitely had history class together. And not with Tony.
