Contestants

Chapter One (part two)

    Third P.O.V

Everyone watched as contestants' names were being called by Darryl. One by one to each took their turn to step onto the podium in the middle of the arena. Everybody watched as the line built up, some were bored and others anxious, and the many faces shone with determination or greed.

"Technoblade." He seemed to startle at his name being called but quickly composed himself. His posture was straight and regal. His loose braid followed while his crown shone brightly, the pig skull strapped around his head almost made his stare intimidating. Gracefully his cape followed in sync with his steps. The pristine white fur fit comfortably around his neck, his strides were long and confident.

"Georgenotfound." A short boy in a blue shirt and baggy jeans with cloud glasses walked up to the stage in a lethargic manner. His brown hair was tousled and his clothes dishevelled. While his demeanour seemed relaxed his expression was pensive and calculated.

" Niki Nihachu." The girl smiled brightly, her eyes shone with determination. She had a fire in her step, her expression never faltering. Despite her hands trembling from nervousness. She wore a long tunic made of light fabric, the pearly white colour contrasted with the dark brown leather belt looped around her waist loosely. Her boots had thick soles but were almost weightless. Tightening her grip on her strap that held her sword she smiled.

"Sapnap."  Suddenly, a black-haired boy wearing a white headband tied across his head under his bangs but mostly over his hair. He had jumped up startling a few people beside as he scrambled up to get on the stage almost falling over his feet. A closer look at the boy, his black turtleneck sweater had a white T-shirt over it with a small pixelated flame on it, a strange choice of style, his black cargo pants were loose on his frame while his checkered sneakers drew dust from the dirt when he ran.

"Skeppy, wait- SGEPPY! ZAK WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" A boy in a blue hoodie, black jeans, Nike sneakers and a diamond block head mask jumped up, giggling as he skidded up to the stage, lifting the mask up enough to see a tuft of black hair and a tan boy smiling up at the balcony where Darryl, Minx, and Philza, who had only recently joined, stood. Darryl sent him a glare while Skeppy continued to smirk mischievously.

The audience chuckled and laughed at the interaction, most of them knew of the relationship between the two boys, the troublemaker known for his pranks and the other known for his forgiveness and second side for brutality. It was an adorable and comforting exchange that helped clear the tension in the air.

Huffing, he continued reading out loud the names. Darryl was definitely gonna shout at Zak about this later. On the stage, you could see all of them snickering at the boys' antics.

" Dream." A tall boy stood up, his presence alone seemed to silence the loud crowd, a green hoodie with a leather belt strapped across his chest jingled with every heavy step from his black combat boots. The strap held a weapon on his back with the satchel attached to the belt on his waist, his black trousers were baggy and his posture was loose and carefree as he walked up to the stage with his hands in his hoodie pockets. His fingerless gloves were hidden in the fabric of his hoodie but the sleeves rolled up to his elbow. The white mask that adorned his face with a simple face drawn on it seemed innocent but couldn't help but feel menacing with the shadow cast upon it from his hood that was up covering his hair, however a few tufts and strands escaped at the top, revealing dirty blonde hair. His lazy smile didn't falter though, peaking at the bottom of his mask.

"Wilbur Soot." A Boy in a beanie stood up calmly, composed and smiled. His curly brown hair fell over his face and his coat trailed behind him. He had a lighthearted expression and smiled at the people he made eye contact with. The tall male wore a yellow sweatshirt and dark brown trousers. He had thick boots contrary to his light steps and relaxed posture while he walked up the stairs to the stage calmly. His brown hazelnut eyes seemed to study every contestant until they had landed on a particular (h/c) haired girl who was setting a mask on her face. It was a white mask but it had a red smile however when she pulled up her hood the smile turned into a frown and the red paint seemed to glow a blood red under the shadow cast upon her face.

However as soon as he blinked the shadow had gone and it was back to it's former red smile that didn't hesitate to send shivers up his spine. The other contestants had seen the same thing as well only it made their skin crawl, with the exception of Techno, he just flinched.

Staring in the red eyes of the red frown on her mask would be a mistake everyone would make and was terrifying.

Y/N's P.O.V

"Jared."  Of course, the world's best known fuckboy. I rolled my eyes.

(I don't know what Jared looks like so bear with me here-)

A sharp jawline and broad shoulders, he strutted up clearly trying to display confidence and how rich he was judging by the expensive quality of the clothes he was wearing, the multiple gold and silver embedded rings on his fingers, the fancy sheath for his over decorated sword hilt, it was all too much and honestly? Niki looked like she was so close to drop kicking him, she may be a forgiving soul but something tells me Jared was an exception. I drop-kicked him in self-defence I couldn't help but muse at the quote remembering vaguely the origins. While he was a prince from a few kingdoms over, that didn't stop me from wanting to sock him in the face and watch his blue eyes fill with fear. I hated the way he slicked back his black hair, running his fingers through it making girls squeal and faint in the audience.

He reminds me of a peacock. Only difference, a peacock was actually worth your time. Strange how his intelligence will never be able to match his ego.

I smiled to myself, not that anyone could see behind the mask. But overall my expression remained neutral overall only changing with every name called as I attempted to recall what I knew of them or assess and study them. While it may seem to take a lot of effort, it really didn't. It's the little things that can tell you so much about a person. However I wasn't able to get too lost in my thoughts as I heard my stage name being called.

"__________."
