I snap my eyes open to see Mrs. Williams standing in front of me.

Wait. I thought she died . . . so how is she alive?

Was it all just a dream?

"What?" I ask, feeling shocked and dumbfounded. "What happened?"

"Come on! Get dressed! Someone's coming to adopt. A VIP guest. Let's get a move on!"

It was all a dream. Oh, COME ON!!!

But she did just say a VIP guest. Is it Billie again?

"Mrs. Williams?" She stops and turns towards me. "Is the VIP guest Billie Eilish?"

She gives me a sly smile. "Maybe. Don't tell anyone though."

I smile and get out of bed and grab some fresh clothes. I change into those and then brushed my hair, letting the thoughts run through my mind.

So Mrs. Williams didn't die. I didn't get abused by that horrible man who came in to replace her. I wasn't adopted by Billie Eilish but might today for real, and I didn't summon a demon. Good.

I walk out of my room and into the bathroom, quickly brushing my teeth and tying my hair back into a ponytail before walking back down the stairs. For a moment, I think I hear someone whisper my name, but I push that thought aside.

When I get downstairs, I sit in a chair in the corner while everyone else scatters around. 

And then she walks in.

I feel dizzy, knowing that a dream came into reality. But that doesn't mean that I'm going to get adopted. I mean, I'm still skinny, still bruised. So why would she choose me? She wouldn't, that's the answer.

She begins walking around, talking to other kids. Some ignore her since they're too shy, or they just don't want to be chosen by her. Some try to bribe her into adopting them, but she knows. 

And then, she begins walking up to me.
