It's been a month since everything's happened. I've tried to forget about it all, but it's been extremely hard. He's traumatized me, after all. I'm too young to be going through that. He's made me hate life. I want nothing to do with it anymore. Billie's the only thing that's kept me going for this past month. If not, I'd most likely be dead.

It's four in the morning when I'm woken up by a strong wave of nausea. I sit up and run to the bathroom, letting everything out. After half a minute, Billie runs in and kneels beside me. I groan and put my head against her shoulder. She wraps an arm around me, pulling me into a hug.

"Billie?" I whine. "Do you think maybe you could get a test? I just want to be sure that this is just a coincidence."

She nods. "Yeah. Do you want anything else while I'm at the store? Any kind of snacks?"

I give her a small, hopeful smile. "Takis?"

She smiles back. "Sure thing. Hang in there, Brooke. You'll be okay. And whatever happens, I'm going to be right by your side. I'm not going to leave you. I promise. Okay?"

I nod. She leaves the house. I sigh and stand up, looking at myself in the mirror. It's been a few days since I've gotten a good night's sleep. I've been waiting for this moment, preparing for this moment for an entire month. And now it might come true. I'm too young to have a child. How am I going to take care of it?

Calm down, Brooke. Stop panicking. You don't even know if you are pregnant yet. Just chill out. Calm down. Calm down.

She soon returns to the house. After a minute, she walks into the bathroom with two tests and some bags of Takis. She unboxes one of the tests and hands it to me before leaving the room. I take a deep breath and follow the instructions. I wait a long three minutes.

When the three minutes are done, I call in Billie. I grab the test, still facing face-down.

"On three," I say.

We count to three together. I flip over the test.

Two lines.

Positive.
