Confronting Darkness
Siddharth
"Is she who I think she is?" I snapped out of my daze as I heard Harsh's voice. Looking at him, I could see the doubt and surprise written on his face. With a sigh, I nodded and turned my gaze back to where Ved and Niharika had just disappeared. I couldn't help but wonder what was going on between them when Harsh's hand gently patted my shoulder.
I turned towards him, and he had reverted to his usual cold demeanor. "I think we should head back to the room," he said. I nodded in agreement, and together, we made our way towards the elevator.
Once we were back in the room, Harsh began explaining the blueprint of the ashram to me. As he pointed out the different areas on the layout, we both concluded that they might have locked her up in one of the four warehouses within the compound.
Excusing myself for a moment, I reached for my phone as it began to ring. I glanced at the screen and noticed an unknown number calling. Frowning slightly, I decided to answer the call.
"Hello! Am I speaking to Mr. Siddharth Aryan?" a female voice asked.
"Yes, may I know who this is?" I replied.
"It doesn't matter who I am. What is important is that you have to get inside the ashram tonight if you want to save your girl. They are going to move her out of the ashram tonight, and it will be difficult to save her," the voice said urgently.
A shiver ran down my spine. "Who are you?" I asked once again, seeking some reassurance.
"I told you before, it doesn't matter. Are you willing to come? If not, then I am going to hang up," she replied, sounding a bit irritated.
"Okay, okay. Fine. Tell me what should I do?" I said, trying to remain calm despite the overwhelming situation.
"You can enter the ashram as a common devotee and stay around until the gates are closed. The ashram will be closed to outsiders by 7.00 PM. Just wait behind the main prayer hall." she instructed.
"But how can I trust you? I don't even know who you are and whether what you are telling is true or not," I expressed my concerns, feeling torn between the urgency of the situation and the uncertainty surrounding the mysterious caller. I glanced at Harsh, who was looking at me suspiciously, further adding to my apprehension.
"How many people knew that she was kidnapped?" She asked, sounding incredulous. I fell silent, holding the phone tightly, realizing that only a few close ones knew about Priya's kidnapping.
"Look, mister, I don't have time to make you believe me, and I don't intend to do so. So, it's up to you whether you believe me or not. But you are running out of time. With each passing second, that girl is nearing her death," she said sternly, devoid of any compassion.
Her words hit me like a bolt of realization, and I knew I had to act immediately, regardless of my doubts. "I... I understand. I'll trust you. Just tell me what I need to do to save Priya." The words came out of my mouth, laced with both anxiety and determination. I knew I had no other choice but to trust this mysterious caller if I wanted any chance of saving Priya. My heart pounded in my chest as I listened intently to her instructions.
"Good. As I said, be there near the main prayer hall before the ashram gates are closed. Remember, you must blend in as a devotee to go unnoticed. And please, don't jeopardize her safety by acting rashly," the mysterious caller said.
