Shadows of the Past

Stepping out of the elevator, Nakul Varma, the owner of Pune's esteemed seven-star hotel, Golden Tulip, rushed towards the conference room. The weight of urgency hung in the air as he entered, greeted by his secretary, who handed him a file.

Checking its contents, Nakul's voice thundered through the room, "What the hell were you people doing? How did someone manage to acquire such a significant portion of our shares without anyone noticing? What am I paying you all for?"

"Sir, it seems they purchased the shares gradually over the past year, using different names," his secretary explained. "But what's surprising is their ability to persuade Mr. Khurana and Mr. Rao to sell their shares as well. We suspect they have their sights set on the board of members."

Rubbing his temples, Nakul inquired, "And who is this buyer? Have you been able to identify them?"

"No, sir. We have only been approached by their lawyer. They have requested an urgent board meeting tomorrow morning, where the new shareholder will introduce himself," the secretary replied.

"Alright. Arrange the meeting and ensure our lawyer is present. We will find out who this person is and what they want," Nakul declared. The secretary nodded before leaving to carry out the instructions, while Nakul sank into his black leather chair, deep in thought.

In the solitude of his office, Nakul pondered the identity and motives of the mysterious shareholder. Why did they want to acquire the shares? What were their intentions for seeking a position on the board? The questions swirled in his mind, yet he struggled to pinpoint a single suspect. All he could do was wait and see.

The following day arrived, and Nakul, along with the other board members and their attorneys, gathered in the conference room. Impatience grew within the room as the new board member remained an hour late. Frustration began to seep through the cracks, until finally, the doors swung open.

In walked a man in his late forties, Mr. Amish Takur, the legal attorney of the new board member. "Good morning, everyone. My name is Mr. Amish Takur, and I apologize for the delay. We had some personal matters to attend to, but I assure you it won't happen again."

Nakul teetered on the edge of losing his composure. The sleepless night and his deteriorating health only added to his mounting anxiety.

"Enough with the excuses," Nakul snapped. "Tell your employer to enter without further delay. We have more important matters to attend to than wasting our time with pleasantries."

"As you wish, Mr. Varma," Mr. Takur replied with a smile. He opened the door, and in walked a man dressed in a sleek black three-piece Armani suit. The ensemble accentuated his well-built physique, while his long, perfectly combed black hair framed his face. A neatly trimmed mustache and beard partially obscured his features, but it was his commanding presence and towering six-foot figure that exuded an undeniable aura of power. With a tight-lipped smirk, he surveyed the room, his gaze settling upon Nakul Varma's face.

"Hello, Mr. Varma. We meet again," he declared, extending his hand towards Nakul. "After all these years, I hope life treated you well. And I trust you remember me. I am Vedant Aryan, son of Mr. Varun Aryan." he declared, extending his hand towards Nakul. The room fell into stunned silence.

"You mean you're Mr. Vedant Aryan of the Aryan Group of Real Estate? The CEO?" Mr. Sign, one of the board members, asked in disbelief.

"Yes, indeed," Vedant replied with a nod. He turned his attention back to Nakul, his extended hand waiting for a response. With trembling hands, Nakul reached out to shake it. Sweat trickled down his forehead as his face turned pallid. The encounter he never anticipated, the meeting with someone from his past, had come to fruition. The eerie smirk etched on Vedant's face sent shivers down Nakul's spine, signaling that this was only the beginning.
