"Mmm, do you have to leave already?" Jimin grumbled, his voice thick with sleep as Jeongguk opened the window and drew the curtains, allowing the early morning sunlight to flood into their luxurious-modern bedroom. The golden rays cascaded over the sleek, minimalist furniture, casting long shadows that danced across the floor.
Jeongguk paused for a moment, taking in the sight of his boyfriend curled up under the thick, downy comforter. His hair was a tousled mess, his pinkish lips slightly parted, and his eyes barely open, still fighting the urge to return to sleep. "They called. I have to go," Jeongguk finally replied, his voice gentle as he crossed the room to sit on the edge of the bed. He leaned down, brushing a soft kiss against Jimin's lips.
"Stay longer." Jimin murmured, his words more a plea than a demand. His hand reached out, finding Jeongguk's neck, fingers tangling in the soft strands of his hair. He tugged gently, pulling him closer.
Jeongguk chuckled softly, trying to resist the pull but ultimately failing as he allowed himself to be drawn closer. His face nuzzled into the crook of Jimin's neck, inhaling the familiar scent that was uniquely his. "I'll be late for work." he murmured, though his resolve was clearly weakening
Jimin smiled sleepily, his hands now trailing down to wrap around Jeongguk's waist, holding him in place. He could feel Jeongguk's breath against his skin, warm and rhythmic, lulling him back to the edge of sleep. Their foreheads touched, the intimacy of the moment wrapping them in a cocoon of warmth and affection. Jeongguk's hands found their way to Jimin's waist, pulling him even closer as they lay intertwined, lost in each other.
"You're hot, but your breath stinks, babe," Jeongguk teased, finally breaking the kiss with a grin. Jimin laughed softly, his eyes fluttering open to meet Jeongguk's, the sleepiness slowly giving way to something more awake, more aware.
"Should I come get you after work?" Jimin asked, his voice still laced with the remnants of sleep, but his eyes were clear now, studying Jeongguk's face as if trying to memorize every detail.
Jeongguk shook his head, a soft smile playing on his lips. "No, don't worry about it. I'll probably stay late, so I'll come myself." He leaned in, pressing one last kiss to Jimin's lips before standing up, reluctantly breaking the connection between them. As he walked to the bathroom, he couldn't help but glance back, the sight of Jimin sprawled out on the bed making him want to crawl back under the covers.
He sadly smiled. It was the love of his life that's he would stare in the mornings like that.
Before.
Jimin watched as Jeongguk disappeared into the bathroom, the sound of the faucet running and the occasional rustle of fabric as he dressed for work filling the silence. He rolled over to the other side of the bed, reaching for his phone on the nightstand, the screen lighting up with notifications. He scrolled through them absentmindedly, his mind elsewhere.
