Tommy wasn't sure where he was.
Well he knew he was somewhere safe but not in a place he recognized. That was atleast somewhat comforting.
He was sitting on a grassy platform. And the place was beautiful. Millions of stars light up the seemingly dark sky. On the little platform was a little tree, just large enough to no longer be considered a sapling. It was also filled with Poppies. Tulips too. And roses. Wait, this was actually really pretty.
tommy gazed around the small floating platform, and stopped at the base of the tree. A music box? Hard to tell from all the flowers covering the item. So he got up on unstandy legs. They were very sore and burned. He trudged over anyway.
He guess was indeed correct, as he brushed away stray flowers and fallen leaves. A music box. How pretty. It had something in it. So Tommy against better judgement, clicked the play button. A strange sound started playing before it developed into music.
It sounded like something you would here during a ball. Waltz? Something like that. It almost sounded sad, very slow and deep. No huge crescendos were heard that would sometimes happen in the songs. And then he remembered. Oh. Thats the music on the one disk Tubbo and I found.
Tubbo?
Where was he?
Why isn't he here?
He would love this.
And for a brief moment, he was dumbfounded by the fact that his closest friend wasn't there with him. And then the memories.
Oh yeah, the fire.
So Tommy sat next to the box, quietly humming. He was trying to pull his thoughts together. And as the story had become more and more clear, he became more and more upset. He finally came to the conclusion he was dead. And so he the cried.
He had so much he wanted to do before he left the earth. He had no idea how his family was going to react. What about the ghosts? How were they ever going to see each other again? Needless to say, Tommy pretty devastated.
He heard footsteps, but made no move to see who they had belonged to. And before he could get angry that they were still approaching,
"Hello. You are Tommy, yes?"
He made no idication he was listening and didn't move. He stayed arms wrapped around his knees and head down.
"I'll take your sad silence as a yes."
He didn't move
"Anyway. I know you still need some time to yourself, but I was asked to speak to you as soon as I could," the person sat down. He could here the flowers and grass shift. "My name is Clara."
He looked up, it felt rude to just ignore the person since they were trying to introduce themselves. "Yeah, uh- Tommy- but you already, like, knew that- i guess?" He felt awkward so he just gave Clara his hand to shake. To which Clara did.
"So I'm going to basically explain everything as fast as I can, and then I'm gonna let you ask all the questions you want, ok? So that way I can leave you be until later."
Tommy wasn't sure what Clara meant by, 'Leave you until later' but he didnt question. So he just nodded and adjusted to a more comfortable sitting position, he wasn't sure how long this was going to take.
"Ok," Clara sat down too so she could face him, "Again I'll try to get this done quickly."
"So this is basically the waiting area, as you have probably deduced, you are indeed dead."
Tommy shivered at that. He didn't like that it was once again thrown to his face.
"And normally, depending on where you spend eternity, depends on where your little island will go. So, like, if you were going to 'hell' you would come with me to the gates and I'd have my friend take you there. And if you were going to 'paradise' I would take you to the gates and you would have your own littler area along with other people."
Tommy wasnt exactly sure why Clara used the air quotes, but he could only assume it was for the people with very strong spiritual beliefs. He was more interested in Clara's friend.
"But that, my friend, isn't where we are headed."
Clara stood from her spot and motioned for Tommy to follow. They started to move away from the tree.
"It has been decided that you will roam the earth as a spirit. Just like Phil."
Tommy visiably brightened at the chance to see the ghosts again.
"So soon, I'll be sending you to the next place, you may have to wait a while though. I'll join you later when the time comes for you to leave. Is there anything you wanted to ask before I send you there?"
"What about Tubbo?"
Clara simply smiled. "You'll see him soon." And that was all they had said. Clara grabbed his hands and held them together, "I'll be sending you to my friend. They will be the one to send you back. If you ever need anything, don't be afraid to ask."
Then the record scratched, and he was no longer by the tree.
He was floating in a space filled with stars, but there was no solid ground. And so he waited for Clara's friend.
Tommy then wondered how Tubbo was doing.
