Tw: transphobia
Jikari slowly walked into the living room, not sure what to expect. He heard loud noises as he walked in. He saw a tall woman, probably about 5'11 with long brown hair that reached about to her mid back. She wore glasses, and looked older than jikari, definitely by a lot, so he could safely assume that was his mom. The yelling that came from her made jikari want to leave, and he definitely could, Edith had brought him there and said he'd stay outside, so he could theoretically leave. The other girl was a bit taller than his mom, she had bright purple hair and glasses, and she looked incredibly angry. Jikari could feel the tension throughout the room, and it was uncomfortable.
The shorter woman turned, now facing jikari, "oh look! here's the other one!" she started to yell at jikari, asking him where he'd been and why he wasn't at work at that moment.
"U-uhm— I woke up in the hospital—" jikari tried to start, before getting interrupted.
"You went to the goddamn hospital?! We can't afford those bills! Are you fucking stupid!?" His mother screamed at him, criticizing him.
"I was in an accident I didn't have control—"
"Oh shut the hell up jikari! I don't want your stupid excuses!"
Jikari was incredibly tense, he didn't expect to get screamed at upon arriving home. He now understood what Edith meant earlier when he said his parents were 'certainly something.' He felt tears in his eyes, but didn't cry.
"Oh don't fucking cry! You're such a fucking baby!" Jikaris mother came a bit closer to jikari, continuing to yell and criticize him.
"Lay off him asshole! He just got back from the hospital jackass!" He heard the other girl shout, he didn't really know who she was, but he was thankful she was there.
"Oh yeah? Why the hell should I? We're going to be even worse because of his selfish ass!"
"Kari, what did the doctors say?" The girl decided to ignore his mother, and assumed 'kari' was referring to him, considering she was looking at him.
"I— they said I have amnesia..." he said quietly, thinking he was going to get yelled at.
"See asshole! He doesn't know what the fuck you're talking about! Shut the fuck up and lay off him!" Frankly jikari was incredibly thankful for the purple haired girl.
"You will not speak to me like that young man!" She screamed back at her, which frankly, confused jikari, but ignored it.
"I'm you're fucking daughter and you know that! And I'll talk to you however the fuck I want to!"
Jikari at that point stopped listening, instead staring off, trying to focus on anything else in the room. He tried to figure out how to leave, but couldn't focus on anything, overwhelmed.
He wanted nothing more than to leave in that moment, he wanted to go see Edith. He felt better with Edith than he did here.
Jikari looked around the room a bit, trying to see if he could leave. He didn't know the layout of the house, only the way he walked in, but his mother was in the way of that. He looked around, seeing another doorway he quietly tried to walk over and see what was over there.
Thankfully his mother hadn't noticed, too busy yelling at the other girl. But he ran into another man. The man had black hair, and was about the same height as jikari. He didn't have any defining features, but he did have blue eyes.
"Oh— sorry." Jikari said quietly, looking at the other man.
The other male, who he assumed to be his dad, due to his older looking face, didn't say anything, just rolled his eyes and passed by.
Honestly, the interaction made jikari just as tense as the last. Even though no real words were spoken, being ignored was just as bad as being yelled at.
He continued down the hall, looking around for a back door, thankfully he found one.
He quietly went out the back door, and walked around the house, looking for his boyfriend to calm him down.
