Katsuki's POV
"Kirishima!"

He turned around from the sofa, where he was eating some rice porridge and grinned, "morning!"

I rolled my eyes, grabbing myself some rice porridge that he'd left on the side for me before telling him, "tell Sparky that I want in on Kyushu."

"Okay, man! Hey, aren't you meant to have the day off today?"

I huffed as I flopped onto the sofa beside him, "my assistant is working on the Shadow situation, she has a plan and I'd rather just get it over and done with."

Once I arrived at work, my assistant hurried over to me, "good morning, sir! Thank you so much for coming in on your day off, I know it must've been-"

"Yeah, yeah, just get on with it, I have things to do."

She exhaled before making her way over to the computer and pulling up a list of people with their photographs, "this is a list of the people that have disappeared in the same areas and times that Shadow has appeared; including the guy that she killed when you encountered her."

I sat back into my chair, "so?"

"So, I did some research on them all, and they all have ties that lead back to the same underground organisation. They all worked for Virus."

I groaned and raised my voice, "can you just get to the fucking point!?"

She sighed, "I was getting there. Anyway, before they went missing, though I believe it's safe to assume that they died at her hands, they were all building a higher profile on the streets- so I've complied another list," she opened another page with a list of entirely different people, "these guys have been building a higher profile in the streets as of late, and they all have connections with Virus, too."

I leaned my elbows onto my knees as I looked over all of the villain's names, "so, what you're saying is... these are Shadow's next victims?"

"It's probable, though it also would reveal another piece of information. Our top two priority villains are working against each other."

Thinking back to the encounter I had with Shadow, it almost seemed as though she was working for someone else, I had briefly considered the idea that it was Virus, but this completely rules out that idea.

"Shadow is carrying out someone else's dirty work... she isn't her own boss."

She turned to look over at me, "what do you mean, sir?"

I sighed as I leaned back, "when I saw her, she said that her 'people' had business with the guy she killed, she's probably just an errand girl. At first, I thought it could've been Virus, but it's gotta be some other shitty villain."

She placed her fingers to her lips, "hmm... well, you mentioned that there was someone that helped her escape... did you get anything on their appearance? Maybe we could trace whoever that was back to an organisation or perhaps-"

"No," I exhaled, "I didn't fucking see them- do you have an idea on tracking down Shadow or not? Because I didn't come in today just for you to be wasting my fucking time."

"Of course I have a plan, sir. So, as you can see, each of these villains link back to Virus and are building a higher street profile, very similarly to what happened with the people on the other list I showed you-"

Is she being for real!?

I slammed my hand onto the desk, "STOP REPEATING YOURSELF AND JUST GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!"

She glanced over at my hand and took a deep breath, with her eyes shut before stating, "I want your permission to do a few checks on each of these villains, once I've done enough research into all of them, I'll figure out which one of them I believe Shadow will be going after next, and from there, the agency will open an official case targeting each of them at specific times that I'll be sure Shadow will be present during."

I stood up and huffed, "you should know by now that you don't need my permission to do shit like that, just hurry up with it."

I headed towards the door but stopped when she grabbed onto my arm, "oh, sir, whilst you're here, would you mind approving a few things?"

I yanked my arm away from her grip and glared at her, "what is it, now?"

She grinned, grabbing her notebook, "well, firstly, I got a call from Shoto Todoroki's agency and they were wondering if you'd like to do a joint meet-and-greet?"

I rolled my eyes, "no."

"Are you sure? Having number two and number three-"

"I said no. What's next?"

She sighed, crossing the first thing from her list.

"Chargebolt's agency wants your assistance in an investigation based in Kyushu. Other heroes have agreed to help out, including Red Riot, Cellophane, Hawks, Suneater-"

"I'll do it."

"Oh. Right, well there's also a request for you to appear on a game show as-"

"No."

"And also on a reality TV-"

I opened the office door and turned back to her, "honestly, just use your common fucking sense."

I slammed the door behind me and stormed out of the building and towards the train station.

I quickly sent a message to Kirishima before I got off at my stop:

2:00pm: going on a hike, don't know what time I'll be home, don't wait for dinner.

I just needed some space to clear my head and really think.

That stupid girl with the stupid face paint, the shitty little villain who didn't even try to attack me... who was she? How do I know her?
