TW: this entire chapter is just filled with TWs

Y/N's POV
I hadn't spoken about that incident in a long time, and the only people I had ever told were Surge, Hirou, Rina and Levi.

"If I recall, you were still a sidekick back then, right?"

He rolled his eyes (again), "yeah, what of it?"

I shrugged, "nothing, just wondering how much you would've known about it at the time. Firstly, might I say, I don't just go around shooting arrows at random people in the street, I've only ever attacked other villains and heroes, including their agencies."

"Bullshit."

"If you can pull up one report of me attacking a random civilian, I'll give up my job on the spot."

"I can think of some from the top of my head, you kill bystanders on a regular basis."

"Bystanders are collateral damage, I don't go out of my way to kill them, the same way you don't."

"I don't fucking kill civilians."

I raised an eyebrow at him, "so, what? You think that there's absolutely no collateral from your fights?"

"There have never been any reports of dead bystanders, small injuries aren't even that common, no one is stupid enough to hang around a large scale fight with a top hero."

"Exactly. That's because hero collateral damage doesn't get documented, and if it does, it's blamed on us."

"The fuck are you talking about?"

I had no idea why I was trusting him with this information. Maybe I just wanted to share it with someone, I hadn't spoke a word about it in years.

"Do you remember my little sister? She's a couple years younger than us. She actually went to U.A, she was on the support course."

He paused, looking like he was trying to think.

"She had the same hair colour as me, but her hair was always dead straight, in an unnatural way and tended to stick up a lot."

"The static electricity girl."

"Yeah, her. Well, she was out with my parents, she was shopping for some stuff for her hero gadget things, she had her final exam coming up and some kid from the hero course had requested something that she needed extra parts for."

"During the Endeavour fight?"

"Right before the Endeavour fight, she was already in the area when it started... Katsuki, how many bystanders do you think died that day?"

"None died, there were a few injuries from the idiots who didn't get out of the damned way, but no one died."

I scoffed, "of course you'd believe that."

He paused for a moment before ever so slightly  softening his voice, to the point that it was barely noticeable, "what? Did your sister die or something?"

I shook my head, "no, she's alive. My dad died that day, my mum died from the injuries a few days later... my sister has been on life support for years now, her entire body is covered in third degree burns, she's unrecognisable and unresponsive."

He didn't say a word.

"When they wanted to unplug her, I had her transferred to private healthcare, she's probably never gonna wake up."

Still, he was silent.

"I'm not asking for your pity, though. It wasn't just me who lost people to the flame hero's carelessness, there were so many more casualties that were unaccounted for."
