Y/n's pov
"Y/N" My best friend calls me. "Yes?" I answer. "Nothing, I just like calling your name" Zhang ji replied. "You little." I muttered under my breath. Yep Zhang ji is my best friend since kindergarten. Let me introduce myself first. My name is Y/N L/N which you might have already guessed. I am 18years old and I am in college. Zhang ji is one year older than me indicating that he is 19years old. We are living in china if you don't know.
We have been best friends since kindergarten. I think he was like 5years old and I was 4. I have been in love with Zhang ji for a long time but I was scared to confess cause I know I'll get rejected and I don't want to ruin our friendship.
If Zhang ji ever loved me more than a best friend, I would be thrilled. Sometimes Zhang ji would peck my cheek but he only thinks of it as a friendly gesture.
My thoughts were cut off by a peck on my cheek. "Y/N, we're waiting for your order. You've been spacing out for quite a while." Zhang ji says after he pecked my cheeks. I blushed, apologized to the waiter and ordered. "So were you thinking about me earlier?" Zhang ji teased wiggling his eyebrows up and down. "In your dreams" I replied cause I didn't want to admit it. "Whatever I know you're lying" Zhang ji scoffed.
After eating~(they are in a cafe btw, still Y/n's pov)
"Okay it'll be 15 yuan altogether." The waiter gave us the paycheck. "I'll pay" Zhang ji and I said at the same time. We looked at each other for a moment before racing to take out the money. I handed the waiter my money and Zhang ji did the same. "Take mine" I waved the money in front of the waiter's face. "No take mine" Zhang ji argued. "Why don't you be a gentleman and let the lady pay." I said through gritted teeth.
"A gentleman always pays for the lady" Zhang ji also said through gritted teeth. I stood up instantaneously and use one of my arm to hold Zhang ji down while the other hand hands the money to the waiter. Before the waiter could take the money from my hands, Zhang ji stood up making me stumble rearwards. The money from my hand flew all over the table. Zhang ji got startled but rushed to prevent me from hitting the ground but my money, which was under his feet, caused him to slip.
He starts falling forward accidentally putting more weight on me. We both fell with a loud thud. When I opened my eyes I got startled of how close Zhang ji's face was with mine. Our faces were only inches away that I could feel his breath on me. We both were snapped out of our trance by the bell meaning another customer came in the cafe. Zhang ji cleared his throat awkwardly and says, "I'll pay" I nodded still embarrassed of what has happened.
While Zhang ji was paying, I crouch down and picked up all of my money. When I look up I see Zhang ji already looking at me offering a hand, "Let's go" he says. I took his hand appreciatively and muttered a thank you.
Nobody spoke on the way to the dorm due to the awkward situation that happened. It was just uncomfortable silence that you could even hear crickets. I stood at the front porch if the house and opened the door for both Zhang ji and I. We both went to our rooms directly to avoid the awkward situation again. Well what a day.
Finally I finished the first chapter. I didn't have any idea what to write. Anyways see you in the next chapter ❤️
