Y/n's pov (The next day at school)
Today I walked to school alone not even bothering to wait for Zhang ji after yesterday. Seriously I just asked him why he didn't tell me he went back to the dorms and he turned it into a whole ass argument. I shook my head in disappointment and continue my journey to school.
When I arrived at school, I went to the classroom just to see Zhang ji and Dao Ming talkin- or should I say flirting with each other. I thought I was the one who was not waiting for him but guess what? I was wrong. I took a seat beside him which is my usual place to sit. He didn't even acknowledge me and my presence. This motherfuc- before I finish my thoughts someone took a seat beside me.
I whipped my head to see a smiling Zuo. "Hi Y/N" he says. "Hi" I replied. I place my chin on the desk and proceeds to close my eyes since I was sobbing the whole night yesterday. "Damn you look like a zombie. What happened to you?" Zuo asks eyeing me. "Don't even bother" I waved my hand infront of his face. "Oh hey Y/N. When did you get here? Me and Dao Ming were just talking" Zhang ji said like we didn't even argue yesterday at all.
Just talking my non-existent ass. "Um let me think?" I said pretending to think. "You don't even know when you got here? How dumb are you?" Dao Ming snickers. Oml the audacity this girl has. "Shut the fuck up no one is talking to yo-" I cleared my throat, "I mean please stay quiet" I added a fake, sweet smile at the end. "Oh and Zhang ji?" I called. "Yes?" Zhang ji responds. "I was here since you were born" I answered his question sarcastically. Zhang ji rolled his eyes in response.
Zhang ji's pov
Y/N has been practically ignoring me and hanging out with Zuo more and not gonna lie I'm kind of jealous and hurt. It's lunch time and I'm gonna go apologize to her.
Back to Y/N's pov
I am sitting at one of the lunch tables chatting with Zuo when Zhang ji came up to me and says, "I wanna talk to you for a minute" I eyes him suspiciously but I finally gave in when he started pleading.
He dragged me to a hallway where there were no students. "Yes?" I asked impatiently cause I was hungry and wanted to eat my lunch. "I'm sorry" he started. "Whaa?" I trailed off confusingly. "I'm sorry for snapping at you yesterday" He apologizes. "Can you forgive me? I can't loose you. You're my best friend" he continued. I perked up at the part where he said 'I can't lose you' but saddened when he said 'You're my best friend'. Right I was only a best friend to him.
"You are forgiven" I say. After all he is my best friend who I fell in love with anyways. "Really?!" He exclaims. I nodded smiling. Zhang ji jumps up in excitement and hugs me saying thank you all over again. "But today you have to walk back to the dorms with me" I demanded. He nodded. "Promise?" "Promise" we locked out pinkies together.
Time skip to after school~(y/n's pov)
I was humming to a song and waiting for Zhang ji to walk to the dorms with me. 10 minutes have past and he still hasn't arrived. I was starting to get anxious, hoping he won't leave me like what he did yesterday. Speaking of Zhang ji, my mood my ruined when I saw Zhang ji coming out of the school building with a Dao Ming clinging on him like a Koala.
When Zhang ji got in front of me he says, "Sorry Y/N, Dao Ming said she wanted to walk to the dorms with me today" Zhang ji smiled at Dao Ming and looked at her with...love? A couple of tears brim in my eyes but I held them in. "But she walked home with you yesterday" I say my voice about to crack any second. "Y/N you walk to the dorms with him everyday" Dao Ming replied, "Right Jiji?" The name 'Jiji'.... Zhang ji never let anyone call him his nickname 'jiji' except for me. That was very special between us.
"But-" "Bye Y/N" Zhang ji walks away after with Dao Ming after cutting me off. "....you promised" I finished softly.
