While walking through the dense forest, I find myself staring at that little mark on my left shoulder. Johnathan always told me it was a birthmark, a very strange birthmark indeed. I red mark in the shape of a tear drop, now I know better. It's the reason vampires can walk in the sunlight. In the city every baby Vampire got that mark.
I don't care.
Right now I don't really care about much. I just want answers. Why did my parents leave me? Why did Alex make that deal?
Will I ever find the answers?
I don't know.
I just don't know.
I kneel down on the ground. And I say the things I know, in order to try to clear my mind, and get a grip.
"My name is Jadelyn we-"
But I can't really even say that. I don't know if my last name was Lightwood or Hawthorne. Were they married when I was born?
There's only one thing I'm completely sure of.
