The next few days were a complete hell for Shawn. Beyoncé had to stay in the hospital for another week and that meant Shawn had to take care of the kids on his own. He did have a little help from Solange and his mother-in-law, but for most of the time, it was he and the kids.
He actually didn't have any idea how exhausting and stressful it was to take care of them, help them with their schoolwork, cook and take care of the house. For the first time since they got married, he realized that Beyoncé had a much more stressful job than he did. He always knew that Bey did a great job, but after this week alone with his kids, his respect for his wife was on an even higher level than before.
"I don't like this." Brandon scrunched his face up and pushed his plate away.
"Brandon stop being complicated. I did it the same way as mommy." Shawn said trying to stay calm.
"No, mommy does it better. She always makes a smiley on my toast."
"Brandon, you're too old for that. You're not a baby anymore."
"I want mommy back home." He grumbled with tears in his eyes.
"I know." Shawn sighed feeling bad for his son.
Brandon asked every day when his mother would be back home. He was probably the one that missed her the most. It could be because Beyoncé spoiled him so much and always gave him all of her attention.
Kiera on the other hand, didn't expressed at all how she was feeling. Of course she was missing her mother, but she would never tell anyone, not even her father. Shawn asked her several times if everything was okay, but she would just smile and nod her head. Truth was that she was still feeling bad for the stupid argument she had with her mother. She truly regretted what she said to her.
"When is mom coming home?" Kiera asked.
"I hope she gets released today."
"Promise?" Brandon asked, getting excited.
"I can't promise anything Brandon. Now c'mon, we should leave or we're going to be late for school."
"What about our lunch for school?" Kiera asked.
"I will give you some money to buy something." Shawn said taking his wallet then handing each of them 10$.
"Cool." Brandon said excited.
"And don't buy any candies."
Kiera wasn't that excited. She always complained to her mother about wanting to buy lunch at school, but Beyoncé strictly said no to her. Now that her father was giving her exactly what she wanted, she felt weird about it. It felt like going against her mother.
"Thank you." She mumbled taking the money from her father.

"Hey babe." Shawn greeted cheerfully as he came into my room. He lightly kissed my lips and then sat down."What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I'm just exhausted." He sighed, and he actually sounded tired.
"Awww my poor baby. Come here." I moved my body to the side so he could get in the bed with me.
"I miss you. I can't wait for you to finally come back home." He murmured kissing my lips again.
"You just say that because the kids are driving you crazy."
