Chapter 14

When we arrived at the mansion yesterday, I thought of two things.

First, Justin is an excellent knight.

Second, he is not just an excellent knight.... but a very important safety pin especially to me.

Yes!!!

With Justin around, I will be safe without a doubt.

And with this conclusion, Justin became my all-around protection.

I'm somehow glad that I found him.

"Young miss."

Kelly went inside my room.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Who is the guy standing outside the room?"

"My safety- my new escort!" I almost said safety pin right there.

"Oh, I see. So Sir Rey was replaced?"

"Yes. Why?"

"Nothing. The new guy is handsome but Sir Rey was more of my type." She said with indifference.

"What?"

"Look here, young miss. His face, body and attitude has exceeded all of my standards. Sir Rey has a charismatic aura that makes you helplessly like him. Hahh....when do I ever get to have my own love story." She sighed.

"...."

"Anyways young miss, a letter was sent to you." She suddenly changed the topic.

"Another letter?"

"Yes. And this time, it's from the daughter of Duke Seymour. Lady Sabrina."

'Sabrina Seymour!? Oh no, I don't think I can survive this time.'

Aside from Patricia Cornwall, the villainess, Sabrina is more of a wicked villainess than her.

She was basically the Prince's stalker ever since a child.

I opened the letter and started reading its contents.

Good day Lady Moriana,

I have noticed your presence ever since you danced with the crown prince. You were a good dancer.

Last two weeks, I sent you an invitation for tea. To my disappointment, you didn't arrive.

And so this time, I decided to invite you to tea again. There will be few ladies who will also attend so I hope you also can.

A knight or escort isn't allowed inside the mansion. You can only bring your lady in waiting inside.

The party will be held in my estate tomorrow at 2pm. The invitation card is at the back of this letter.

'Wow... such a nice and delicate penmanship.'

But what caught my eyes wasn't the penmanship and privelege.

It was the phrase 'I have noticed your presence ever since you danced wih the crown prince.'

Her letter didn't look like an invitation. It's more like a threat.

I think I have attracted a butterfly. A poisonous butterfly.

Maybe I will get drenched this time for sure.

And so, I replied her letter. And of course, the flowery words and flatteries weren't left out. Flattering words are very needed when writing a letter.

"Please send this letter to Lady Sabrina."

"Yes, young miss. I'll get going first." Kelly replied.

"Sure, go ahead."

Kelly bowed then left.

"Hahhh." I sighed as I lied in bed.

It hasn't been a month since I came here yet there were already a lot of things that have happened.

"Justin." I opened the door and peeked at him.

"Yes, My Lady?"

"Nothing."

He looked like he didn't know what to respond so he just nodded.

"Can I borrow your sword?"

"Pardon?"

I looked at him with hopeful eyes.

"Oh, is it alright? It's a bit heavy...here you go."

He handed me the sword carefully.

"Euk-"

It wasn't 'a bit heavy.' It was very heavy.

"Take it, take it, hurry!"

He hurriedly took the sword and asked me if I was alright.

"I'm fine. Anyways, it seems like the mana stone turned black. You're awesome Justin." I gave him a thumbs up.

He thanked me and shyly bowed his head.

"I'll take a nap first. I'll head inside now. See you."

He bowed.

I went inside my room again and took a nap.

When it was time for dinner, Kelly woke me up and I went to the dining area.

Mom and dad were waiting for me. We ate and talked together for quite some time.

'Hahahaha! So this is Lady Moriana? I thought she's some gorgeous lady but I seemed to be wrong.'

'Here you go.'

A lady poured wine on me.

'You look a lot like this wine. Cheap and smelly.'

'Hahahahahahaha.'

I opened my eyes and woke up.

'That dream.. was that a bad omen or my future? Hahaha.....'

"You finally woke up young miss. Come, let's get you prepared." Kelly suddenly interrupted my thoughts.

'Hahhh..seems like I need to prepare for the upcoming cold war.'
