Chapter 28

-There's always a calm before the storm-

Since yesterday, I've been feeling paranoid.

It was because of that letter.

I thought Sabrina was the one who sent that letter

Since she's already dead, I thought that things like that would stop.

Why and who?

"Anna, are you alright?" He asked in a worried tone.

In front of me was Richard.

He invited me to lunch at a certain restaurant and the whole floor only contained the two of us.

'I'm guessing he paid for this whole floor.'

"You've been silent since earlier. Is there something wrong?"

"Oh, I'm sorry about that. Can I use the restroom first?"

"Of course." He smiled.

I left the table and went to the restroom.

I rinsed my face and held myself together.

"Whew."

I opened the door and walked towards the table.

"How were the presents? Did it suit your tastes?" He asked.

"...Yes. There were a lot of them. I mean, really totally very so many a lot of them.... Thank you Richard." I replied.

"Pft-hahahaha. Your welcome. There's no need to be pressured. I just want to convey my thanks to you for lifting up my curse." He said while laughing.

"Oh, haha, I see."

I continued to eat and the food was delicious as heaven.

We talked a lot since earlier and it was time to go home.

"Thanks for accepting my invitation Anna." He said.

"It was my pleasure Richard."

"Anna."

"Yes?"

"If I said that I like you right now, how would you react?" He asked.

'What?! What did he say!?' I was really surprised.

"Pft-hahahaha! Hahh... I guess that would be your reaction. I want to be honest to you. I find you unique, interesting and fun to have around. I like you Anna." He confessed.

"Wha- What are you talking-"

"But. I already know you like someone else."

I was silent when he said that.

When I heard him say about me liking someone else, the first person that popped in my mind was the prince.

'What the hell. I don't really like the prince right? Oh gosh please no.'

When my heart kept throbbing when I thought about the prince, I could no longer deny my feelings.

"Hahh... I'll take that as a yes? Damn it. Getting rejected to the person you like hurts a lot." He muttered.

"It's alright. There's no need to apologize. Because even if you won't like me back, I'll still continue to like you." He added with a smile.

He left then left me behind.

I covered my face in embarrassment just thinking about the thoughts I had earlier.

"Anna?" A familiar voice said from behind.

"I already told you to drop the formalities. And where is the Duke?" He said.

'He's looking for Richard?'

'Hahh... that Richard. He already knew. That's why he called for the prince.'

"He already left Leo." I replied.

"Oh, I see."

"Anna, about what happened last time-"

"Follow me first."

I grabbed his hand and walked towards somewhere quiet.

"What's wrong Anna?" He asked.

"I've never been this straightforward in my life so don't be surprised alright?"

I kissed him.

'I kissed him first! Oh my gosh! I can't believe I'm this shameless!'

I took the lead and cupped his face first, but afer a while, Leo became the dominant one.

"Don't forget you took a move on me first." He said in a low voice.

He pasted me to the wall and held the back of my head to deepen the kiss.

He bit my lower lip and inserted his tongue after.

'A french kiss! Oh my goodness!'

After many kisses after, he finally released me.

I was totally breathless after.

"Anna."

"I already like you okay? So it's up to you how to answer my answer to your question last time." I said.

'Did I say that correctly?'

He suddenly kissed me again out of nowhere.

"Then, will you have the honor to be my future empress?" He whispered.
