Ica did not want to be in the same room as Jensen. Especially given their previous conversation about Dayin. But, since Dayin wasn't in the best conditions, Ica wasn't about to leave just because Jensen showed up. He just wasn't thrilled about his presence.
The moment Finn worked his magic, Dayin had been out like a light. He occasionally twitched, from what Ica assumed was dreams or maybe even memories. Ica had relaxed as well, knowing that Dayin was very unlikely to collapse face-first into the stone floors now that they immobilized him on the table. He'd tried not to look too worried while Dayin had been conscious because he didn't want Dayin to freak out, but he was sure his concern had been clear.
"Will someone please explain what is going on?" Jensen demanded at last, his icy gaze flickering between Ica and Finn in annoyance. "Because I still have no idea what is going on, besides something being wrong with Dayin."
Finn glanced at Ica, waiting for him to speak up before returning to taking care of Dayin. Ica sighed, knowing that no matter what he said, Jensen was likely not to believe him entirely. He rarely did. "So, Dayin believed that some of his memories had been taken from him. He doesn't ever recall dealing with magic before stepping into this school... He brought it up to me and asked me if getting his memories back was a thing." He bit his lip and glanced down at Dayin, knowing that the reason he was lying on that table was because he hadn't agreed to help him. "I told him it was dangerous and probably something that he shouldn't do. He didn't listen to me. He went to William, who apparently thought it would be a good idea to give him every memory that had ever been wiped from his mind back to him."
Jensen squinted at him and made a face. "...so, what? His mind couldn't handle it?" Ica didn't appreciate the tone.
"Clearly," Ica said with a glare at Jensen. Could he really be this stupid? "He could barely stand or focus on anything when I got to the classroom to try to take him back to his room. William decided he'd be better off with me instead of waiting to see what kind of reaction he'd have, I guess."
Jensen stifled jeering laughter as he folded his arms across his chest. "What did he think leaving him with you would do?"
"Jensen," Finn said softly as he removed his hands from Dayin. The tone alone was enough to silence Jensen, but the look that followed it was equally threatening. "Please do not." Jensen gave his twin an annoyed look but stopped in his tracks. "I personally think that William meant for you to be the one to help sort out his mind. He wanted you to trust yourself."
Jensen raised an eyebrow mockingly but said nothing, knowing that Finn would stick up for him and he'd be silenced again. Ica pressed a thin smile. He appreciated Finn thought highly enough of him to want him to help Dayin. But he still didn't think it was something he could manage. He didn't trust himself to manage.
"He doesn't need to know it wasn't me."
"I think it'll be awfully clear who did it," Jensen said with a shrug. There was no mockery or annoyance in his voice. He meant what he said. "I'm sure he knows that your healing skills aren't as good as ours."
He had a point. An annoying point. Nevertheless, a point. "Okay, well, that doesn't mean we can't pretend that I was the one who did it."
