It was nighttime. I rolled over. Ugh! Why can't I sleep!? I thought. I sat up in my bed. I looked over at Pascal's branch. He was sleeping, so why couldn't I? I finally got out of bed, and tiptoed out of my room. Since it was only 10:00, I would be okay. I tied my hair up, and walked down the hallway. I saw a couple scary things. I saw a shadow move across the wall. I turned around sharply. Someone touched my shoulder. "Eek!" I screamed. It was mom. I exhaled. "Whew! Hi mom!" I waved at her. "Hi darling." she replied. I hugged her. "I thought you were a monster!" Mom hugged me back. "Monster? Honey, there's no monsters in the castle!" Mom said. "Okay! Thanks! I was so scared! Where's Cass?" Mom laughed a little. "Sweetheart, she's sleeping. And you should be too." She steered me back towards my room. "But-but-" I tried. "No. It's 10:30 at night." Once we reached my room, mom hugged me again. I hugged her too. I went into my room, and Mom closed the door. I was tired by now! I faceplanted onto my bed, and went to sleep!
