I walked inside the McDonald's with my four year old daughter, whom was sleeping, as I carried her. It had really been a long day for us and I couldn't wait til we could just relax and go to sleep and be somewhat comfortable for the night.

Walking up to the register, waiting for an employee to come and assist me I looked over and saw a family sitting and enjoying themselves, wishing it was me and my daughter; Lyric. I looked back over at the woman, and gave her my order and sat down at a booth, waiting for them to call my order number so I could leave.

I was getting impatient especially since there were barely people in here, it was taking a time for them just to get my order out.

Waiting for a few more minutes they finally called my order number and I grabbed the bag before going out to my car, putting lyric in the backseat covering her up with a blanket.

Starting my car, I headed back home and took a bite out my burger. Listening to the radio, since my phone was broken and I didn't have the money to get a new one I simply enjoyed listening to Bobby brown that they played.

On BET they had came out with a new edition movie, and they had been playing them all on the radio non stop. I didn't mind though. When I was younger that's all I ever listened to. My cousins and I were posed to be the next SWV but not everything works out as planned.

Clearly.

Pulling into my drive way I took the keys out the ignition before getting Lyric out of the car and packing her. Unlocking my front door and I took her and laid her on her bed.

Sighing, I went to go see what was past due or something that I owed. Picking up the gas build. Already knowing it was passed due. I hadn't paid it in months. Simply because I could use a lighter to start up the stove.

Rolling my eyes seeing it was over $300, something I didn't have at the moment. I sighed knowing what I was going to have to do.

Which I really didn't feel like it. I was tired. But I knew the state would take my house from me if I was ever to get behind on any bills after this.

But being a single mother was hard. It was all fun and games being a teenager until you actually have to get up and learn some type of responsibility. Which is something I wasn't prepared for.

Going into my room, changing my clothes, lingerie to be exact. I was going to have to drive up north to do some "work".

Spraying on perfume I put my trench coat on and made my way back out to the car.

Knocking at the door, hoping his wife wasn't home. It wasn't like she ever was, but still. I wanted to play it safe because white women were very possessive over their rich husbands to make sure the money was still coming in.

Which I wouldn't blame her.

The door opened and I saw the man I really didn't want to see but he was the key to getting my bills paid so I did what I had to do.

"Wife home?" I asked simply.

"No ma'am." He smirked, making unwanted chills go down my spine.

He disgusted me in every form of way. But for lyric? I would do it a thousand times plus more. As long as the bills were paid for her, as long she got everything she wanted and needed plus more? I was fine with doing whatever.

"Get to work!"

After a long series of doing the do with him, he paid me about $8,000. Which was more than what he normally gave me. I wasn't going to complain though. That meant I wouldn't have to see him like I normally would have.

Half of this money was going to my student loans, I still had a debt to pay which I wasn't really tripping off of because I didn't have much left to pay on it.

But just to get it out the way I decided to do.

Sitting the money on my dining room table I looked up as I heard small footsteps coming near me and I knew it was lyric.

"Mommy." She frowned.

"Yes baby?" I sighed.

"Where were you? I missed you." She pouted, as tears welled up in her eyes.

I already knew she was about to start crying because she did it every time she woke up. It never failed. She was just a crybaby, but she was my crybaby.

"Mommy had to go do something, her is sorry for leaving you here by yourself." I picked her up, sitting her in my lap.

"It's okay mommy, you have things to do." She nodded her head, before laying her head on my shoulder.

"Yea, mommy loves you, you know that right?"

"Yes mommy, daddy loves us too." She said looking up at the ceiling.

"Daddy loves us too."

"You think daddy would still be here if he didn't love us?"

"No, he loves us too much. Daddy had to make a choice. He made his choice so you can be here."

She nodded her head slowly.

Being a single parent wasn't ideal, living the life that I am living isn't ideal but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

It was perfect.
