The cold wind was blowing worse than before. Ivan was used to this harsh winter. It still sent a chill down his spine. Tonight. Tonight something big was going to happen. He felt it in the air. It had been a week since Yao had been brought to his home. His condition was deteriorating. The wounds just weren't healing. Whatever the Norwiegen did, it wasn't just switching Yao's gender. Perhaps it was one of the side effects. She couldn't eat, she hardly slept. She was starting to show her age. Anyone would know that's not good for a country. Ivan had to do something, so he called on the one other person he knew that was experienced in the magic area.
Arthur Kirkland was making his way through the snow. English weather usually consisted of rain. Sometimes there was a little snow but nothing compared to the harsh Russian winter.
"I'm glad you could come. Da?"
"Whatever... What did you want to see me about? "
"It's China. He was cursed. Da?"
Arthur prefers to call people by their country names and wishes them to do the same to him.
"Alright... Lead the way..."They walked for what seemed like hours. Arthur was grumbling under his breath about the cold weather. It took some time, but they got there. Leon hadn't moved from the spot. Outside the door. He was fast asleep. That's hardly surprising. He was up most of the night listening to the pained screams of his elder. Ivan poonted to the door.
"He's in there. Da?"
Arthur walked in, closing the door behind him quietly. He didn't want to wake Leon.Yao was lying in bed. There were dark circles under her eyes. She looked so frail. Like she would break at any moment. She was breathing heavily. Arthur couldn't believe that this was the same China that he fought against and alongside many times.
Arthur came outside and shook his head.
"I'm sorry... Death would be best for her. She can't live like this..."
Ivan's face darkened. He wasn't ready to let her go. Not now. Not yet.
"Russia, she is slowly dying. She is in pain. Let her go..."
Tears welled up in Ivan's eyes. This soon. He wondered why everyone had to leave him. Why did nobody stay?
"I'll think about it. Da?"
Arthur nodded and walked out. He needed to go home. He felt bad because he couldn't do anything to prevent Yao's death but he had to face facts. China was falling. Nobody can stop it. Not even someone like Ivan. A storm was brewing. Someone had thrown petrol on the fire and it was going to burn brighter than ever...Finally done! Sorry it took so long! Thanks for the patience! Review! Tell me when you think!
