Bokuto sat at his fathers side holding the week hand. Late last night his father had suffered a stroke and his health had started declining fast. He never left his fathers side. Not an ounce of sleep. He was worried about the only family he had left leaving him.
" Have you seen Akaashi recently? " The failing voice asked. Bokuto looked at his dad giving a slight nod.
" We met a few days ago.. He was just as beautiful as ever. Father I see myself marrying him someday, and having our own-"
" So marry him son" His father whispered pressing a ring in Bokuto's hand.
" It was your mother's... She would want you to give it to your lover. And I'm sorry I tried to force you to love someone else. I should've took into consideration what you wanted. So please marry Akaashi, Kōtarō. That was your moms dying wish.. She wanted you to marry for love and now it's mine. " Bokuto watched his father smile then the hand be held fell cold.
" Father?... " Bokuto stood up shaking his dad.
" No please wake up!.. No" He let go of his father's hand laying it to his side. He stepped out of the room giving the servants a nod. They went into the room, and Bokuto left the kingdom. He took himself to the cabin hoping his Akaashi would be there. He wanted someone who still loved him. He needed someone to still love him. Upon opening the door he found lover sitting on window ledge a book in hand. He took in the site feeling the love he needed while watching Akaashi. His body sculptured like a goddess everything down to his.. His. Bokuto squinted his eyes looking at Akaashi's abdomen. He blinked slightly seeing it was a bit more prominent. He'd never tell Akaashi though. Bokuto would still love this man even if he was pink and black stripes.
Akaashi looked at his lover setting his book down. He saw the sadness in his eyes. It was the same as when his mother died. Akaashi ran over to him wrapping him in a warm hug. Bokuto pulled him close crying into Akaashi's chest. The slightly smaller one running his fingers through the man's silver locks.
" I'm sorry Kōtarō.. I'm so sorry he left you. But he's with your mom now. They can finally hold each other again. He's never truly gone Kōtarō.. He's in every move you make. Every time something good happens he's right by your side "
" I miss him Keiji... I wish he was still here. How can I deal with loosing both my parents? " Bokuto spoke in a whisper.
"You don't. You're never truly gonna be 'healed' after this. But the first step in processing this.. Is remembering the love you had. That bond that was special between father and son. " Akaashi kissed his forehead.
" Promise me you'll never leave Akaashi.. Promise me please " He straightened up looking at the raven. The younger looking down.
" Keiji...Please don't leave me-"
" I'm sorry. I don't want to-"
"Then don't Keiji. Use your voice-"
" I can't Bokuto!...I've tried. My father said-"
" So run away with me. We can start our own life. Away from all this chaos. We can live alone. Just me and you.." Bokuto took hold of Akaashi's hands. The raven looking away. That's when the sound of horse hooves started on the gravel.
"I'm sorry Kōtarō. " Akaashi looked up at Bokuto with teary eyes. Squeezing Bokuto's hand he placed them on his lower abdomen.
" I'm sorry. I'm sorry " The two felt the love between them start to crack. Bokuto looked at the man he loved as his hands were bound with ropes. Akaashi gave him one final kiss before he watched the sun get pulled away.As Bokuto was thrown in the cell he remembered the actions Akaashi had done. The placing of the hands hurting him more. He would be kept away from his child now. The king had no doubt used his son. Akaashi would never break in this easily to pressure.
" I'll be set free soon... My people will come for me.... This war won't end by the tip of a blade. It will be stopped by love one feels for his lover" Bokuto thought aloud.
" Love's gonna conquer all... " He spoke remembering the feeling of Akaashi's lips on his. The love he felt from them. That love would be the driving force behind many wars to come.
