Hades walks through the Elysian Fields, hands clasped behind his back. His shoes softly press down on the green grass as he strolls, nodding his head at people who address him. He's dressed in black suit, the only light thing on his being the set of pearls that his wife had made him two summers ago when she was with her mother, pretending she was making it for herself. She brings him back little things like that. Such as the purple ring that rests on his middle finger, right next to his gold wedding band that she had insisted on getting him without the knowledge of her mother. These jewels stand out beautifully on him, and he wears them proudly, making sure the entire Underworld can see them as he walks by, elegant and expensive in taste.
Speaking of his wife, she is nowhere to be seen, going missing shortly after breakfast. She'd calmly eaten and then excused herself with a kiss to her husband's cheek, turning around to leave the room. Hades sat in his throne for the majority of the day, often yelling at his servants for being unable to do their job correctly. It was just that sort of day, and it didn't help that his Persephone had run away from him for the entire day, which led him to stroll along the Fields he knew she'd be at.
He can tell she's been at Elysian Fields because flowers have popped up in places they usually wouldn't have. He notices that one woman wears a crown of them on her head, the stems neatly tucked in, and only Persephone could have done this. Another man carries a bouquet of roses to someone else. Harry ducks his head to nod at some more people, and then he stops walking, bringing his hands to his front to messily play with his rings. His eyes scan over Fields, making sure he's covered every inch with his sight.
Still, she's nowhere to be seen.
He grabs the nearest mortal. "Tell me," he says, "where is the Queen?"
There isn't any persuasion required. The man turns and points at a young woman laying on the grass beside another young man staring up at the pink sky. "She lays there." The man takes a step back because Harry feels his skin growing hotter.
Persephone places a hand on the man's shoulder and laughs heartily, something that makes his ears ring. He can read her lips from here: "That's so funny!"
"I see," he says. He gives her a reason to not make him upset, standing off to the side just to witness what's happening between her and the man. He places a hand on his chest and tries to force himself to calm down, but when the man turns his head toward his wife, closer than Hades would like it to be, that's when he can't take it any longer.
Before he begins to walk to the pair, his body melts, slowly shrinking until he hits the ground, and the man yelps, stepping back some more as Hades, now in the form of a black snake, slithers around the ankles of the people near him. The other people quickly move away, creating more of an easy path for the snake to make his way to his wife.
By the time Harry gets there, Persephone's sitting up, chatting happily with the young man. Hades isn't the type to get jealous easily, and it's another thing that there's never a reason for him to. Sure, plenty of people and creatures have flirted with her over the many, many years, but he can't remember a time she'd actively flirted back. There was usually a distinction between her being nice versus her flirty behavior that only Harry can see, so it's only fair that this riles him.
