How It Began

Sitting across her friend with the breeze of the ocean air hitting their faces, utensils around them making noises, with the chatters of other people mixed with the restaurant's jazz music. That is her evening as of the moment.

"You're single right now, Cherilyn, right?"Her friend asked and she nodded with a hum.

"Yes, why?"She asked as she sip on her glass of Dr. Pepper.

"Because Pierce and I have a friend and he is also single."Her friend answered that made her forehead creased.

"And?"She asked, raising a brow.

"I am thinking of you know, setting you two up for a blind date."Her friend answered that made her run her tongue on her upper lip.

"Mary Louise, I know you are already married, Christine and Matthew are engaged, but you don't need to play the cupid just because I'm the single one in the group."She uttered and her friend giggled.

"Cher, c'mon, you need to meet someone. You don't have to really date him."Her friend retorted.

"How about a double date?You and him with me and Pierce."She added.

"Right now, I'm happy on my own, Meryl, okay?I am just enjoying the single life."Cher said and Meryl let out a sigh.

"Just meet him, he's a nice guy, I promise. And you two will be with me and Pierce so you won't get uncomfortable."Meryl said and Cher rolled her eyeballs.

"Okay, fine, if that will make you shut up about that man, I will go on a blind date BUT with you and Pierce."Cher said and Meryl widely smiled whilst nodding.

"I'm gonna tell Pierce to call him when I get home."Meryl said and Cher once again rolled her eyeballs.

"Ride his dick first when you get home then tell him to call your friend."Cher said and the two of them started laughing.

"You know, I've been doing lots of favors for you and Pierce lately."Cher said and Meryl scoffed.

"If you liked this man, I swear, you're gonna thank us."Meryl said and Cher just gave her a side-eye.

"I actually don't know why we're still friends."Cher said and Meryl laughed.

"Because you love me."Meryl said with her sweetest smile.

"Well, that's true."Cher said and the two of them laughed.

Cher started preparing herself not just physically but also mentally after Meryl convinced her to go on a blind date.

She started scanning her closet as the day of the date is getting closer and she called her best friend and her sister to help her choose what to wear.

"Okay, first dress. Just casual looking."She said as she go out of her closet.

"Too simple, stupid. Not really for a date, it's a dress for a picnic at the beach."Her sister uttered.

"Fine, I'm gonna change into another one."She said before walking in her closet.

"How about this one?"She asked after a few moments and she now wearing a tube mini dress with some sparkles at the edges of the dress.

"Too out there, Cheralini."Her best friend said and she frowned.

"For someone who haven't dated for more than a year, this is hard."Cher said before walking back to her closet.

"How about this one?"Cher asked before going out wearing a silver backless mini dress.

"Are you going to a party or on a first date?"Her sister asked and that made Cher do a facepalm.
