Chapter Seventeen: Showtime

Since receiving the news that Aaron was the victim of a violent attack, his adoring wife has been by his side only leaving to go home to shower and pack some clothes. She's held his hand while looking at him...whispering to him that she'll be waiting to love on him when he comes out of this. A whole day had passed which was far too long to go without looking into those sweet eyes of his...the eyes she set hers on the moment she walked on set of his shoot to style him. Their chemistry was palpable and it was the strongest connection she had ever made with anyone in her life. He's nothing short of perfection to her and undoubtedly the love of her life. She remembered what his doctor said about talking to him as much as possible...and that she has. In a tone just above a whisper she talked about that very day and how she knew upon seeing him that he was the man she would marry. He calls her his queen and everyday he makes sure to treat her like one. She talked about their first date and how touching it was for him to open the car door for her as well as the door at the restaurant like the gentleman he is. Of course she couldn't talk about these things without tears coming to her eyes and she's thankful that Larry and Laurent have been by to see if she needs anything and have also talked to Aaron with the hope that the familiarity of their voices will bring him out of this condition. They still can't imagine why anyone would hurt him but they will do their part in making sure that the culprit is found and punished. Now it's day three and while she holds his hand she also uses her free hand to lightly stroke the back of his while softly singing their wedding song, Unchained Melody. The waiting has been soul crushing and with each lyric she sings she can feel tears building...until she feels his pointer finger move which nearly stops her heart. She looks down then softly gasps as she can see it move this time. She's crying before she even looks at him...and when she does the tears hit harder when she sees him slowly opening his eyes. She stands up to look down in those eyes and when he sees her he pushes that sweet smile through at the beautiful sight before him. She sniffs then greets through a smile, "hi my love". It's difficult to talk, but there's only thing that he needs her to know right now so he slowly blinks three times. She softly laughs through her rapid tears as she recognizes the words those blinks signify then replies, "I love you too". It goes back to silence as they just want to bask in this wonderful moment. Mya can't wipe away the tears fast enough before more fall. She has to alert his doctor but after the longest three days of her life she just doesn't want to step away from him though she doesn't have to because his nurse comes in to check his vitals and she smiles when she sees he's awake. Her heart melts at the two of them gazing at each other, but she ultimately does what she came to do then tells Mya that she will let the doctor know who smiles and nods through her tears then it's back to gazing at her beautiful husband who gazes back at her. They remain connected until the doctor walks in prompting her to smile at him as she couldn't be happier...

Dr. Arquette: *smile* "I just received his vitals. They look really good".

Mya: *smile* "That's such a relief. When can he come home"?

Arquette: "Well I would like to keep him for a couple of more days to monitor any side effects. If his condition remains stable then I'll release him on Sunday".

Mya is glowing at this news and upon hearing it she turns to look down at her husband with a loving look on her face. Knowing that he will get better she replies...

Mya: *smile* "Sunday it is".

Arquette: *smile* "I believe you're right". *pause* "I'll leave you two to spend some time together. Just let me know if you need anything".

Mya: *smile* "Thank you again, doctor".

Arquette: *smile* "My pleasure".
