Okay, guys...SURPRISE! I know I said Wedenesday, but I was REALLY planning on posting it on Valentine's day, since it's my favorite chapter, but I didn't get the chance, so yeah and stuff. This is my favorite chapter, the chapter that inspired it all, lol. The sad news: This is the second to last chapter, and I don't have another one ready for upload... So it may be a while... OH! AND JUST BECAUSE THIS IS THE SECOND TO LAST CHAPTER, DOESN'T MEAN THE NEXT ONE IS THE END, I still have...like an epilogue andd a bonus chapter, so don't fret! (: ENJOY, VOTE, COMMENT.
NOT YOUR AVERAGE TEEN PREGNANCY
Chapter Twelve
Time passes pretty quickly, and now I'm five months along, and I feel bigger than a house. Everyone now knows I'm pregnant. Derek says the baby is his. Everyone, of course, believes him. We've been acting as a couple for five months. I only wish we weren't acting.
Football is over now. Basketball ended last week, and now I have to wear his ice hockey jersey. It's a good thing that Derek is a lot bigger than me, because his jersey's barely fit me anymore.
It's January, if you're wondering. Six months before my mom comes home and I have to explain all this to her, four months until the baby is born.
Sam confronted me a while back, asking if I was completely sure the baby was Derek's. I, of course, lied, and said it was definitely Derek's. He believed me. Stupid asshole.
"Hey, Ellie, I'm going to the rink to practice. It'll just be us, if you want to come," Derek says.
"Sure," I say, grabbing my sweatshirt, and zipping it up over my small-ish bulging belly. I looked up, and Derek was holding my coat, so I could put it on.
"Thank you," I say, and he nods, his face void of any emotion. He looked like he was thinking really hard about something.
The car ride was silent. Derek's been acting strange, as if he has something on his mind. We pulled in, and parked the car in the otherwise empty parking lot. We got out of the car, and Derek held the door open for me, even though he was well aware that I could do it myself.
We walked in, and everything was already set up. I sat in the bleachers, watching him. He skated around, trying to gain speed. Once he was satisfied, he set out some pucks and hits them hard into the goal.
"Derek, are you okay?" I ask.
"Yeah," he says, hitting another one with so much power and anger, it astonished me. I got up, and carefully walked over to him on the ice.
"Derek, calm down," I say, trying to calm him down. He looked at me, and grabbed my hand, so I wouldn't slip.
"Sorry," he says quietly, "I'm just...thinking," he says.
"About what?" I ask,
He sighed, and ran a hand through his hair.
"You," he said, his voice cracking, "I-I just wish this all weren't an act. I wish we were together for real. I wish this baby was really mine. I wish that Sam had never hurt you. I want you to be mine. I-I love you," he says, a tear rolling down his cheek and dripping onto the ice.
He loves me? He wants me? He wishes the baby was his?
"And I promise, I'll love this baby like my own, just-. Just give me a chance?" He asks, his eyes filled with tears, his voice quivering.
I nodded, and he enveloped me into a great big bear hug.
"I love you so much it hurts, Ellie," he smiles.
"I love you too," I say, tears running down my face.
