Sunshine and Motorcycles

Headcannon about what it would be like to ride a motorcycle with Matt Simmons

Inspired by a combination of the nice weather my area has had lately and pictures of Daniel with a motorcycle

Disclaimer: Matt was never married to Kristy in this, both Matt and the reader have a motorcycle license but only one motorcycle

Warnings: gn!reader but I don't believe I use any pronouns unless referring to Matt. Maybe some grammar mistakes here and there

•It was rare that you and Matt had a day off together

•Let alone one where the weather was nice and there weren't a million things that you needed to get done

•When you woke up that morning Matt was still asleep

•Trying to sneak away, only to be pulled back into bed

•"Just stay here for 5 more minutes"
"But it's so nice and sunny out today and I wanna ride the bike"
"The sun and bike will still be there in 5 minutes"

•Giving in to him and laying in bed for what turned out to be an additional half-hour

•When you finally get out of bed and start getting ready Matt wraps his arms around you from behind

•Sneaking the keys off of the table when he's in the other room

•Or at least you thought you managed to get them without him catching you

•Playing dumb when you realize you've been caught

•"Hey, no, hand me the keys"
"What are you talking about? I don't have them"
"I saw you grab something off the table and heard the keys rattle in your pocket."

•Him kissing you as a distraction so he can grab the keys from your jacket pocket

•Trying to convince him to let you drive the bike

•Which he obviously says no to

•But that doesn't stop you from asking him as often as possible

•Trying to find a compromise where both of you get to drive during the day because you were definitely going to stay out on the bike as long as possible

•"Can we stop at a cafe and get coffee?"
"Yes of course baby"
"And can I drive the bike after coffee?"
"Absolutely not"

•He usually had a hard time saying no to you, unless it was something that could get you hurt.

•However, when it came to the bike he never let you drive

•Matt would never admit it out loud but the reason he wouldn't let you was that he liked that you held tight to his torso when you guys rode together

•Anytime you guys got stopped by a light, he'd speed off knowing it would cause your grip on him to involuntarily tighten

•Calling him Matthew every time he did something even slightly reckless on the bike in an attempt to sound serious, only to be met with a slight chuckle

•Him continuing to speed off and randomly accelerate with a smug smile

•"Matthew Simmons you're going to get us killed"
"You worry too much"

•Spending all day out on the bike

•And I mean all day

•Going any and everywhere that you can think to go that wouldn't be inconvenient to use the bike for

•Sharing a quick kiss when the two of you get back home before heading inside

•"I'm driving the bike next time," you say as you unlock the door
"Not happening"
