Hosie : protector

Saturday

Authors note:  Please bare with. This is a Hosie fanfiction, but it is slow burn but they will become canon eventually, thank you for reading so far :)

 Josie's pov:

Josie woke up and looked at the time. She had spent last night with Hope, and hadn't got back to her room until early hours. Her father knew where she was as she had told him when he checked on her. Josie smiled recalling her evening

(flashback)

"Hey Hope, are you okay?" Josie watched as Hope shuffled uncomfortably before replying to her. Once hope had finished her sentence, Josie raised her eyebrow "Hope, it's 9.30pm and you came to talk about our project?" Josie instantly regretted what she said "Sorry, that came out meaner than I meant". She watched as Hope seemed to look sadder than before, if that was even possible. Josie sighed as Hope turned around without a word and began walking away. Calling after her, Josie quickly followed "Hey, Hope, erm what did you need help with on the project?". Josie waited for a response "Oh, I was just thinking that we could start the next part. Guess I didn't realize the time". Josie shrugged before smiling lightly at Hope "If you can wait a second, I will go and get some things then. We can maybe go back to your room?" Josie watched as Hope gave her a small smile and nodded.

(Time skip)

Josie walked out of her room carrying a notebook and Joined Hope. "Lets go". Josie followed Hope until they got to Hope's room. They walked in and Hope sat on her bed while Josie just stood awkwardly. Josie turned to Hope when she spoke "You can sit down you know". Josie nodded and went and sat next to Hope. "Okay so, what bit of the project was you thinking about doing?". Josie waited for Hope to answer her but instead Hope shrugged "I don't know, just the second part whatever that is". Josie giggled "So you came to my room at 9.30pm to work on the second part of  a project that we don't even know about yet?" Hope looked at Josie and also giggled "Yeah, I think I was just using the project as an excuse to hang out with you". Josie was slightly surprised, but happy at the same time. She had spent so much time hating Hope because Lizzie did, that she forgot that Hope was actually a nice person. Josie smiled and looked at hope, before putting her notebook down "Well, next time you want to hang out just ask, you don't need an excuse". Josie and Hope then spent the next few Hours Laughing and joking about.

(End Flashback)

Josie finally pulled herself out of bed. She had plans with Penelope today as it was Saturday. Getting dressed, Josie headed out of her room. Lizzie was still asleep as she didn't like mornings, so Josie was quiet as she left. Once she was in the hall, she began walking to Penelope's room. When she bumped into Hope. Lifting her head and realizing who it was Josie smiled "Good morning Hope". Josie stood as Hope Smiled and began Talking "Morning Jo, How did you sleep?". Josie smiled widely, looking down at the floor then back up at her "Great thank you. what about you?". Josie stood and conversed with Hope about their night, when she realized that she was late meeting Penelope. "Shoot! I got to go find Penelope, I was meant to be in her room about 5 minutes ago. I'll see you around Hope". Josie noticed that when she mentioned Penelope, Hope's whole mood changed. Josie made a mental note to ask her about it later.

Hope's pov:

Hope was Laying in bed. She had been awake for about an hour now, but she didn't want to get up. She stayed there a while longer, before finally dragging herself up, Once she was up she stretched, before walking to her drawers. She grabbed a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a top, before walking into the bathroom and showering. Once Hope had finished in the shower, she got out and brushed her hair, before putting her clothes on. Hope had no plans for the day. She rarely made plans. Once hope was dressed, she looked at the time. It was still quite early so she decided to head down to the canteen while not many people were up. 

Hope left her room and started walking towards the canteen when she bumped into someone. Hope looked up about to apologize, but the person she bumped into spoke first. Hope instantly recognized the voice and smiled. "Morning jo". Hope asked how Josie slept and conversed with her a little bit, just about how she was and her plans etc. Hope smiled, listening to Josie go on about something. Truthfully, she was too distracted by Josie's face and lips to listen. Once Josie finished speaking, Hope just nodded. Trying to seem like she had been listening, Hope was about to ask Josie to Hang out when Josie spoke up, cutting her off "Shoot! I got to go find Penelope, I was meant to be in her room about 5 minutes ago, I'll see you around Hope". Hope instantly felt her mood change. Taking a deep breath, she faked a smile and nodded "Okay Jo, see you soon, have fun". Hope watched as Josie walked away with the thought of following her, just to ask her to hang out. But she decided against it. Instead, she decided to stop by the twins room later. Hope turned around once, Josie was out of sight and continued on her way to the canteen. 

(short time skip)

Hope was sitting in the corner at her usual table, eating breakfast. When she saw Josie and Penelope walk in. Penelope had Josie hanging off her arm like some sort of prize, which made Hope angry. Hope growled, before looking back at her breakfast. her thoughts racing. Hope was then interrupted by someone joining her. Looking up, she was surprised when she saw Lizzie. Hope forced a smile before she spoke "Lizzie, to what do I owe the pleasure?". Lizzie rolled her eyes at Hope before speaking "Cut the crap Hope, why have you been talking to Josie". Hope rolled her eyes back at Lizzie, before answering her "you know, just because you hate me, doesn't mean your sister has to. You know I have nearly no friends, not that it bothers me. But I spoke to your dad and he told me I need to make an effort with people, so I am". Hope knew she was lying, but she wouldn't ever tell Lizzie the real reason why she wanted to talk to Josie. Hope sat and watched as Lizzie stood up, seemingly satisfied with the answer she had given her before quickly turning back. "Make sure your nice to her Hope". Hope watched as Lizzie walked away, before looking around for Josie. But she couldn't find her anywhere. Feeling deflated, she finished her breakfast and headed out of the cafeteria back to her room.
