Both Icy-Hot and I had met up during lunch around two hours later. He wanted answers about his brother, and i wasn't that much of an asshole to deny him. You see, Touya had 'died' as far as his family knew. His father was the only one to know how he had 'died', he had told the rest of his family that it was some sort of freak quirk accident when no one was around. The problem with that statement wasn't the part about the quirk accident. It was the part where Endeavour said that nobody was around to help him."Where do you want me to start?" I asked, sitting down opposite Todoroki with bottled water in my hand.
"Just start from wherever you think." He sighed, eager to get the information. The boy still didn't know that his brother was alive, and i hate to be the one to tell him
"As you already know, i met Keigo in the woods when i was six. We would hang around together, playing in the woods like kids do. He told me about the place he was sent to and i will tell you about that in a second." I began, the boy nodded. " When i was six, Keigo was eight, nearly nine, but we both didn't care because we were lonely i guess." I grumbled. "It was five years later when Keigo first brought along Touya, who was fifteen at the time. I was ten and Keigo was twelve."
Todoroki nodded in understanding. I always hated reciting our age gaps aloud, it made things feel awkward.
"Five years ago, when Touya was fifteen, he was sent to a training facility run by the hero commision, that was made to train the perfect hero." I began, twiddling my fingers nervously. "Now, most people that were sent to these 'training camps' died rather quickly, but Touya and Keigo were different. They advanced each year, living through the so called training, until they came up with a plan." I paused, looking up at the scarred boy infront of me. I really didn't want to be the one to tell him.
"Touya never wanted to be a hero to begin with, so he wanted to run away from the facility. But, Keigo did still want to be a hero, and he thought that this training was the quickest way to get there. Keigo is definitely not fond of waiting." I grimased as i spoke but chuckled at Hawks' stubbornness. I absolutely hated this story, not because i thought they were wrong to do it, but because they had to resort to it in the first place.
"So, one night while they were on a mission, Keigo and Touya decided to make it seem like Touya had died due to a quirk malfunction. As you probably know, his quirk was increcibly hot fire which burned his skin enough to break through layers and gravely harm him, so they both used this to their advantage."
Todoroki looks amazed and confused at the same time. His eyes hold misery and irritation, though he smiles along with words about his older brother being a fighter.
"They both helped to burn and scorch the floor, making the area seem as battered and burnt as possible. This needed to include some of Touya's DNA, just incase they checked it, so they amputated a couple of his toes to burn as well, turning them into dusted ashes over the floor." I frowned deeply at the thought of it. Keigo still has nightmares about that specific time.
The boy opposite him had turned even more pale than before, staring at me with wide, slightly angered, eyes. "He cut off his own toes?" He questioned, his eyes tearing up slightly. I shook my head, sadness radiating through the room.
"No, i think he tried to but couldn't bring himself to do it. Keigo ended up being the one to do it." I couldn't even think of what the look on my face was right now. It was a mix between disgust and absolute dread.
"So your boyfriend cut off my brothers toes?" He asked incredulously. "What the fuck?"
"He had to. Touya needed him to." I growled out. I didnt like the accusatory tone in his voice. "Anyway. Touya managed to escape, not without burning most of his skin drastically, but he was glad to be out. Keigo had to act his ass of to get them to believe him, but in the end they did. The world now thought that Touya Todoroki had died, which meant Touya was free." I smiled as i thought about it. Touya had always grinned when he retold this story, almost like it was his biggest achievement.
"The two kept in touch, still sneaking out of their different places to come and meet up with me in the woods. Talking about their days and what happened along with me." I said, moving closer to my now crying classmate. "Touya is alive, Todoroki."
He began bawling now, and i had no clue how to calm him down. I still needed to tell him the rest of the story or he will be confused as fuck later on. " Please calm down. There is still more to it..."
He glanced up at me and nodded, sucking in a few short breaths and wiping his face free of any wetness. "Touya became an undercover agent for Hawks." I said, looking right into the heterachromic eyes. "Before you say anything, Keigo is Hawks."
"What?" He whispered, utterly confused. I knew that Hawks irritated Endeavour just a bit, it was funny to say the least. And im pretty sure that Keigo has even been to their house for dinner once or twice, using 'Talking about hero work' as an excuse to check up on the Todoroki siblings.
"Yeah, it's confusing. Touya had heard information about this new villain group called the LOV. He reported back to Keigo and then ended up becoming his secret sidekick or some shit." I laughed a bit and the dumbassery the both of them produce. "It was dumb as fuck at the start, really."
"So, Touya is an undercover hero?" He questioned, his tone dripping with questions waiting to be answered.
"No. Nobody apart from Hawks, Touya, you and me know about him working undercover in the league. To anyone else, he is just a normal villain."
"Who do i know him as?" He asked. It was a smart question, full of nervousness and worry.
"You know him as Dabi."
"My brother kidnapped you, Bakugou!" He shouted. I wasn't surprised by his shock, but i was surprised at how he thought of that first instead of just questioning how he was Dabi.
"Yeah, it was part of his job to pretend to be a villain. He actually subtly helped me escape without anyone else realising!" I laughed, absolutely proud of his secrecy and determination.
"So he's not an actual villain?" He questioned, his head in his hands.
"Not a chance. He may have dark humour and sarcasm, but he isn't a bad person."
"I know. He has always been amazing."
