Their Pride Part 1

 Prologue

Alexandria thrashed around on the ground. Her body felt like it was on fire, as if somebody was ripping each body part off slowly. The pain shot through her body. She clenched her teeth, refusing to let out a scream. They might think that she still needed to be treated like a child, but tonight was her night. Tonight she would teach them all that just because you are a late bloomer, doesn’t mean that you won't bloom.

Her hands started to morph into large black paws. The claws were deadly sharp on each paw. She could see black fur spurting out of her skin, covering her body. She knew that if she just relaxed, it would help the process along.

She couldn't relax though, never had Alexandria been able to relax and let nature take over. She had been with The Pride since she was born. Her parents were dead and the only person she had left was an older sister that hated her.

The bones in her body made sickening, popping noises as they morphed into a different form. Black fur was now everywhere on her body, she knew this wasn't right; black fur wasn't right. She still had the spots if you looked closely, but she mainly looked pure black.

Looking into the eyes of the people watching her transformation, all she saw was disgust; there was no sympathy. No, there was just disgust. Shouts rained out from the crowd, they all consisted of the same subject. Alexandria should be killed; there were no black leopard shifters left. She was an abomination, something to destroy.

The man stepped out from the crowd; he knew deep down inside he couldn't watch the person he considered a daughter die. He couldn't watch while they ripped her apart, without mercy.

"Stop," he commanded, they all halted in their words and movements. They had to; his word was law. He looked into the crowd and had no supporters. He realized that if he didn't do something soon, that Alexandria wouldn't be alive for long.

"By the right that is mine, and by my word that is law, I hereby banish Alexandria Holt from The Pride. If she crosses into our land again, she will be killed without question. All of you are hereby ordered to not harm her, unless she comes into our lands."

With that, he turned away, not being able to see the look of heartbreak on Alexandria's face. He knew she had no other family; she had nowhere to go.
