I was taking a walk down the beach with a couple of caves and rocks around it, we had to find a diamond necklace in the sea for the queen. I already have my ship ready so I just decided to take a walk before I get going. I heard some water splashing, I mean obviously there is water splashing from the Ocean. But it sounded like someone was swimming and splashing the water around. '𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦?' I mean, this place is pretty rocky and isn't for swimming.

I heard it coming from a near by cave. I went towards it and looked down into it. I saw long burgundy hair in the water and the rest of the body is in the water.
Zenitsu : "Hey! What are you doing down there!?"
He got up from under the water and I could see him a bit more, he had Hanafuda earrings, red eyes and a scar on his head. He looked at me and smiled curious. Once he swam closer to me I saw a green tail in the water. '𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘶𝘱..' He can't be a mermaid, right? I thought those didn't existed, he came closer and smiled again at me. His tail stuck out of the water and now I saw it clearly. He's a mermaid.
Zenitsu : "A-ARE YOU REAL-?!"
He flinched and hid under the water. I felt bad and apologized to him, he came back out and looked at me again. His eyes sparkled and it seemed like he wanted to come with me. '𝘏𝘦'𝘴 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭..' I blushed. WHAT?!- BEAUTIFUL?!- WHAT IF HE'S DANGEROUS?! I felt him splashed me with water and he giggled. He doesn't look that harmful. I know other Pirates are dreadful and will kill anything they don't like. '𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘦..' I put my hands down and signal him to grab them so I could pull him out.
Zenitsu : "H-Here.. come hold onto me and I can let you out!"
And just like that he grabbed my hands and I pulled him out. The ocean wasn't far. His tail looked so smoot and nice, I rested my hand on it and caressed it a bit and he seemed unbothered. Once I realized what I was doing I blushed and pulled my hand away.
Zenitsu : "WAH-! I'M SORRY!"
He laughed and patted my head. He hasn't talked, I assume he doesn't know how to talk. I picked him up bridal style and carried him to the Ocean so he could swim back. After like 7 minutes since it wasn't far I finally made it and set him down into the water so he could swim off.
Zenitsu : "Go a-ahead!"
Zenitsu : "Go back home!"
He looked at the Ocean and looked back at me. He came out of the water and slowly crawled to me but was struggling because of his tail. '𝘋𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘨𝘰 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬?' I bent down and looked at him while he smiled and hugged me.
Zenitsu : "D-Do you not wanna go back?"
He shook his head 'no.'
Zenitsu : "No, go back! It's dangerous!"
He only stayed with me not wanting to go back. Should I keep him? I had a guest room on my boat that has a tub in it, I guess that could do. '𝘐 𝘨𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘰𝘢𝘵..' I thought for a bit and sighed. I took off my jacket and wrapped it around his tail and picked him up.
Zenitsu : "Alright.. You can stay!"
Zenitsu : "What's your name?"
I was walking when asking him that, he didn't answered.
Zenitsu : "I-I assume you can't talk much.."
Zenitsu : "I'll call you.. Tanjiro!"
His eyes sparkled and he seemed pleased with it. I blushed a bit. I was a bit lonely and he seemed friendly. I'll see how long I could keep him hidden and keep him safe from the other Pirates and people of the town.
