i saw you and i said
"let's go walking through downtown,
but then turn down the streets
that we haven't been down yet
maybe we can find something that's worth our wasted time."
and you came along but then you said
"can't we just walk in the cemetery instead?"
and i said
"but that's what we always do,
can't we just try to find something new,
instead of this heartbreak routine."
and you frowned
and you shrugged
and you said
"maybe we should just stay in then."
but i don't want to stay in when this awkward tension is so thick
i just miss what we used to be
when you didn't care where we walked through this city
